Woodard was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Constance, a homemaker, and Marion H. Woodard, an entrepreneur and interior designer.

Woodard attended Bishop Kelley High School, a private Catholic school in Tulsa. She studied Drama at Boston University from which she graduated.
