Astrid Northman was Eric Northman's mother on the HBO original series True Blood. Played by Swedish actress Annica Bejhed, Astrid appears in one of Eric's flashbacks. The Queen of Öland at some point during the 9th century AD, Astrid was married to Ulfrik Northman with whom she had at least two children. She was killed along with her baby daughter by a pack of werewolves under Russell Edgington's command, and Eric vowed to avenge his families' murder. Astrid appears only on the episode "Trouble" in the series' third season.

Astrid is seen in a flashback of her son Eric. She was married to Ulfrik, with whom she had at least two children. They planned for their son Eric to succeed his father as a monarch, and lectured Eric on his lack of productivity and being prone to spend his days "inside a woman's legs".
