Carl Fortenberry was a minor, unseen character on the HBO original series True Blood. The husband of Maxine Fortenberry, and the father of Hoyt Fortenberry, the real cause of Carl's death is revealed on the episode "Frenzy" in the series' second season.
For many years Hoyt believed his father was killed in a robbery.
While under the control of Mary Ann Forester, Maxine reveals to Hoyt that Carl committed suicide. ("Frenzy")
