Dakin Matthews, born November 7, 1940 in Oakland, California, is an American actor who plays the role of Dr. Robideaux on the HBO original series True Blood. Making his debut on the episode "It Hurts Me Too" in the series' third season, Dakin plays the role of a local, small town doctor. Practicing at the Bon Temps Hospital in the town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, the doctor appears once more, in the Season 3 episode "Fresh Blood".

Biography[]

Dakin is a former teacher, he has a degree in theology and studied at the Vatican. He taught drama at Juilliard and is an Emeritus Professor of English from California State University. Among his former students are Kevin Kline, Annette Bening and Patti LuPone.
