Barbara Whinnery, born July 1, 1953 in Berkeley, California, is an American actress who plays the role of a psychologist on the HBO original series True Blood. Believing that the telepathic abilities exhibited by Sookie Stackhouse were strictly the product of Sookie's ability to read body language, Barbara is a guest starring actress who appears only on the episode "The First Taste" in the series' first season.
