Michael Raymond-James

Michael Raymond-James, born December 4, 1977 in Michigan, is an American actor who plays the role of Drew Marshall, known more commonly as René Lenier, on the HBO original series True Blood. Making his debut on the series' premiere episode, "Strange Love", in the series' first season, Michael was a local resident of Bon Temps Louisiana. Thought to be a trusted ally and best friend to Jason Stackhouse and Hoyt Fortenberry, his character is revealed to be the serial killer responsible for the murders of several Fangbangers, an innocent bystander, a cat named Tina, and the multiple attempted murders of Sookie Stackhouse. The main antagonist through the series' first season, Michael plays a recurring role through the series' first, third, and fourth seasons. Even after Drew's real name is revealed, characters continue to occasionally refer to him as René, and, although Michael appears in flashbacks and visions through the third and fourth seasons, he met an untimely demise in the Season 1 episode "You'll Be the Death of Me".
Biography[]
Michael started out doing theater and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, with George Loros, Jeffery Horn and Robert Castle.
He has starred in Craig Brewer's Black Snake Moan. He has also guest starred in such series as CSI, Medium, Boston Legal and ER.
