Maria Bartolo is the wife of Don Bartolo on the HBO original series True Blood. Played by American co-starring actress Valenzia Algarin, Maria makes her debut on the episode "Me and the Devil" in the series' fourth season. "Me and the Devil"[]

Jesus Velasquez and Lafayette Reynolds travel to Mexico to see Jesus' grandfather Don Bartolo. When they come upon his house, they see a brunette hanging clothes on the line outside.("Me and the Devil")

She seems to be very quiet and follow Don Bartolo's commands silently.("I Wish I Was the Moon")

Season 5[]

"In the Beginning"[]

Jesus is killed and his body disappears. Lafayette goes to Jesus' family home in Mexico in search of answers. He finds Jesus' head displayed on a chair inside. Jesus' grandfather Don Bartolo holds Lafayette at gunpoint and says that his family is taking back what belongs to them.

Bartolo sews Lafayette's mouth shut and ties him to a chair. He begins a ritual involving his wife's pregnant belly. Just before Bartolo can strike Lafayette down, Maria jumps up from behind him and stabs him to death. She then cuts Lafayette free. ("In the Beginning")
