BabyVamp-Jessica.com was one of seventeen official companion websites that were created to complement the content found on the HBO original series True Blood.
Premise[]
The site was a recurring Video Blog created by character Jessica Hamby. The blog was updated after each episode, and contained articles with a behind-the-scenes approach. Bonus material and never before seen pictures were offered, and updates were made as long as Jessica was able. When Jessica was locked up in Burrell's Camp, for example, she wasn't able to produce any updates, naturally, and therefore none are listed.
Version 1: 2010 - 2012[]
The first version of the site possessed a deep purple layout, contrasting hues of purple atop a shot of the stars and constellations. The site was introduced after Jessica Hamby became a vampire during the series' third season.
- This version features news articles from 2010 - 2012, and could either be read on the site, or on a compatible RSS reader on the user's end.
- Articles contained throughout the site possessed three links and a comment box/text field, at the bottom of each article. The first link allowed the viewer to read all comments available for a particular article, the second link allowed the viewer to share the article on major portals such as Facebook and Twitter, and the third link allowed the viewer to send the article to others via the user's email account.
- The site's righthand sidebar possessed three headers. "Subscribe" allowed the user's RSS reader to receive posts, as they were released. "Recent Entries" contained links to the last 15 blog entries, in descending chronological order. "Sites I Like" led to 10 of Jessica's favorite websites: Seventeen Magazine, Realm of Redheads, Claire's, Hot Topic, Really Bad Parenting Advice, Those Darlins, Juliette Commerage, Jenny Lewis, Kitty Wells, Tru Blood (Beverage)
Version 2: 2012 - 2014[]
The second version of the site took a modernized approach to displaying the content. The main site was enlarged by 100 pixels, and imagery was completely redone. It was remade just before the start of the series' fifth season.
- This version features news articles from 2010 - 2013, and could either be read on the site, or on a compatible RSS reader on the user's end.
- Articles contained throughout the site possessed three links and a comment box/text field, at the bottom of each article. The first link allowed the viewer to read all comments available for a particular article, the second link allowed the viewer to share the article on major portals such as Facebook and Twitter, and the third link allowed the viewer to send the article to others via the user's email account.
- The site's righthand sidebar possessed four headers. "Subscribe" allowed the user's RSS reader to receive posts, as they were released. "Recent Entries" contained links to the last 15 blog entries, in descending chronological order. "Currently..." displayed miscellaneous facts relating to Jessica's Life, and never changed. Listening to: Taylor Swift, Reading: Hunger Games, 50 Shades of Grey, Watching: I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant, I Shouldn't be Alive. and Drinking: O Neg, neat, up. The fourth, "Twitter" contained a widget that displayed comments made on Jessica's official Twitter account.
Version 3: 2014[]
The third version of the site took an even more modernized approach. The main site was enlarged by a full 200 pixels, and imagery was completely redone, adding the tagline "Confessions of a Good Girl Gone Vampire". It was remade just before the start of the series' seventh, and final, season.
- This version features all news articles from 2010 - 2014, but there is no longer an option to obtain the articles via RSS..
- Articles contained throughout the site possessed three links and a comment box/text field, at the bottom of each article. The first link allowed the viewer to read all comments available for a particular article, the second link allowed the viewer to like the article and the third link allowed the viewer to share the article on major portals such as Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.
- There is no longer any righthand sidebar, meaning articles are the only features now offered on the site.
