Orry Dawson was an anti-vampire advocate on the HBO original series True Blood. Played by American actor Michael Bofshever, Orry makes his debut on the episode "You'll Be the Death of Me" at the end of the series' first season. A member and representative of the Fellowship of the Sun, and one of Reverend Theodore Newlin's closest advisers, Orry was last seen on the subsequent episode, "Nothing but the Blood", at the beginning of the series' second season.

Personality[]

Biography[]

Background[]

Orry Dawson is a representative of the Fellowship of the Sun church, and Chief Adviser for the church's Light of Day Institute. A citizen with anti-vampire views, Orry is campaigning against the mainstreaming of vampires with their human counterparts.

Season 1[]

"You'll Be the Death of Me"[]

Orry traveled to Bon Temps to visit Jason Stackhouse in jail on behalf of the church to let him know that a fund has been started to pay for his defense. He advised Jason not to admit to anything, and told him that they "recognize that even though [his] methods were flawed, [his] intentions were pure." He then gave Jason a Fellowship of the Sun pamphlet, and told him he was "a brave soldier," that "God loves [him]," and that he "will be saved." ("You'll Be the Death of Me")

Season 2[]

"Nothing but the Blood"[]

Orry introduced Jason to Rev. Steve Newlin and his wife, Sarah, after a news broadcast in which the Reverend debated Nan Flanagan on the topic of vampire rights. Orry recommended Jason as "a fine candidate for the Light of Day Institute," and told them he had "great potential." ("Nothing but the Blood")
