IDW Publishing, or known in full as Idea + Design Works is an American company responsible for publishing the True Blood Comic Book Series, the series of comic books created to complement the HBO original series True Blood.

IDW Publishing was formed in 1999 by four entertainment executives and artists, Ted Adams, Alex Garner, Kris Oprisko and Robbie Robbins. They decided to create a company that would allow them to work with a variety of clients on the things they liked: video games, movies, TV, collectible card games, comic books and trading cards.
