John W. Godley is an American actor who plays the role of "Big John" Dickson on the HBO original series True Blood. Making his debut in the series' premiere episode, "Strange Love", in the series' first season, John plays the role of a chef, and the former "Oyster Shucker", for Sam Merlotte at his diner. Playing a recurring role through the series' first, sixth, and seventh seasons, John is a co-starring actor who is now employed by Arlene Fowler Bellefleur at Bellefleur's Bar and Grill, and was last seen on the episode "Love is to Die", in the series' seventh, and final, season.
