Joyce Watney is a high school student on the HBO original series True Blood. Played by American co-starring actress Galadriel Stineman, Joyce makes her debut on the episode "Let's Get Out of Here" in the series' fourth season. The "Head of the Living Dead Student Alliance" at her school, and seen speaking at the "Festival of Tolerance" rally in Shreveport, Louisiana, her older sister, Julie, is a vampire. Joyce was last seen on the subsequent episode, "Burning Down the House", in the same season.
Joyce and her parents suffered by the disappearance of her older sister Julie back in 2003 at the age of 19, unknowing she was actually turned into a vampire by an unknown maker. 3 years later, once the Great Revelation took place, Julie returned to her mortal home, which was considered as a miracle to her family (at least to Joyce). This event triggered Joyce's pro-vampire activism.
Joyce is seen through season 4 as the true face of the Festival of Tolerance organized by Nan Flanagan and Bill Compton, which she attends along with Julie as guest speakers. Joyce begins the festival sharing their story to the public, and then introduces Julie. The festival goes horribly awry when the witch Marnie Stonebrook uses a mind control spell to force the vampire sheriffs of Louisiana to attack the crowd. ("Let's Get Out of Here")
Once the mind-controlled sheriffs start attacking, Joyce is seen with Julie during the chaos; she tries to reason with Kirsch but she slaps Joyce with her super strength. Julie is distracted and unable to help. After Marnie vanishes with Roy, Kirsch and Duprez, Joyce is seen alone bleeding on the floor with no sign of Julie. ("Burning Down the House")
