Mariana Klaveno, born October 25, 1979 in Endicott, Washington, is an American actress who plays the role of Lorena Krasiki on the HBO original series True Blood. She was a guest star in the first season. She joined the starring cast for the second season only. She returned as a guest star in third and fifth seasons. She also starred in the feature film While the Children Sleep (released as The Sitter on DVD) in the role of Abby Read. She's guest starred in TV show episodes of Standoff, ER, and others. She guest starred in the fifth season of DEXTER as Clarissa Morris for a multiple episode run, as a Florida University professor associated with Edward James Olmos's character Professor Gellar and Colin Hank's character Travis Marshall.

Biography[]

According to her biography at hbo.com, Klaveno grew up with three siblings on a farm in rural Washington State. She graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a B.A. in Theater, studying there with Jon Jory.

On the HBO original series True Blood, Mariana appeared in the fifth episode of Season 1 as the vampire Lorena Krasiki who turned Bill Compton into a vampire. Her character became a regular with starring credits in the second half of Season 2.

She was nominated with the starring cast for the "Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series" at the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild awards in January 2010.
