Mehcad Jason McKinley Brooks, born October 25, 1980 in Austin, Texas, is an American actor who plays the role of Benedict "Eggs" Talley on the HBO original series True Blood. Making his debut on the episode "You'll Be the Death of Me" in the series' first season, Mehcad is the murder weapon of choice of Maenad Maryann Forrester. A recurring character through the series' second season, Mehcad meets an untimely demise in the Season 2 episode "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'". He was last seen in a flashback on the episode "Evil is Going On" in the series' third season.

Biography[]

Mehcad is a former male fashion model born in Austin, Texas. Brooks attended the L.C. Anderson High School in Austin, Texas where he also grew up. After he graduated from high school, he attended Texas Southern University School of Cinematic Arts.

From 2005 to 2006, Brooks played the role of Matthew Applewhite on the popular ABC TV drama Desperate Housewives. He appeared in Glory Road, portraying Harry Flournoy--a forward at Texas Southern University, and in the 2007 film In the Valley of Elah. He guest starred opposite Tia Mowry on the TV series The Game in 2008. In 2009 he appeared on FOX's Dollhouse.

Brooks played Benedict "Eggs" Talley in HBO's True Blood until his character was killed off. In Fall 2009, he appeared as attorney Malcolm Bennet in an ABC series The Deep End.
