Michael Mateus Steger, born May 27, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, is an American actor who plays the role of Tony on the HBO original series True Blood. Playing the role of a prostitute, Michael meets an untimely demise at the hands of vampire Russell Edgington during his only appearance, on the episode "I Smell a Rat" in the series' third season.


Michael Steger is of Ecuadorian, Austrian, and Norwegian descent and grew up in a middle-class family. He graduated with honours from Cal Poly Pamona,achieving a BA in Theater and a minor in Spanish. Michael married Brandee Tucker in November 2008.



Steger started his career by staring in several television ads and guest starred in VR Trooppers in 1994. In 2005 he acted in the Bollywood independent film 3 Girls and the Golden cocoon and after appearing as Sniper in NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service in 2005.
