Mr. Rakestraw is a high school guidance counselor on the HBO original series True Blood. Played by American guest starring actor Scott Thomson, Mr. Rakestraw was Hoyt Fortenberry's high school guidance counselor, and appears only on the episode "Evil is Going On", at the end of the series' third season.

Hoyt arrives at work to find his mother Maxine and Summer ready to give him an intervention about Jessica. Hoyt completely dismisses the intervention, and tells Summer it's best if she just moves on with her life. ("Evil is Going On")
