Nate was a werewolf on the HBO original series True Blood. Played by American co-starring actor Brendan McCarthy, Nate made his debut on the episode "Cold Grey Light of Dawn" in the series' fourth season. A werewolf in the pack from Shreveport, Louisiana, Nate was a loyal supporter to his packmaster, Marcus Bozeman. When Marcus dies, Nate hoped to become an Alpha Male, but is led astray by his new packmaster, JD Carson, who is working for vampire Russell Edgington in exchange for his blood. Playing a recurring role through the series' fourth and fifth seasons, Nate is killed fighting the vampire Bill Compton on Russell's behalf, and meets an untimely demise in the Season 5 episode "Hopeless".
Nate was a werewolf from Shreveport, Louisiana.
Packmaster Marcus Bozeman summons the pack to forbid them to get involved in the war between vampires and witches. Nate is stood beside Chuck during the meeting. Chuck belligerently calls for the pack to be involved but Marcus quickly puts him in his place. ("Spellbound")
Marcus is enraged when his ex Luna starts seeing a new man, shapeshifter Sam Merlotte. He invites Sam to the bike shop, plotting to attack him. Alcide has decided to step up in the ranks of the pack, and like Nate is there to provide muscle for Marcus. Nate and Marcus bet on whether Sam has the "balls" to show up. Sam's brother Tommy uses his ability as a skinwalker to take Sam's likeness and goes to see Marcus. Nate believes he has lost the bet because Sam has arrived. Tommy upsets Marcus when he says that he hasn't slept with Luna but his brother has. The pack beat Tommy, only stopping when Alcide forces them to. Tommy shifts back into himself while unconscious; Marcus and the others are horrified that they beat down a teenage boy. Alcide quickly carries him away. ("Let's Get Out of Here")
Tommy dies from his injuries. Sam comes into Marcus' garage with Alcide looking for revenge. Sam threatens Nate with a gun but doesn't kill him because it is Marcus he wants. ("Burning Down the House")
Sam continues to threaten Nate and asks about Marcus' whereabouts. Nate won't say and provokes Sam instead. Nate tells Alcide that in Shreveport they do not sell their packmaster out. Alicide counters that Marcus is a sociopath. Luna comes in distraught about Marcus kidnapping Emma and pushes Nate. Sam gets her to calm down and she tells him that Marcus snatched Emma from school. Nate then admits that he doesn't know where Marcus is.
Sam is able to find Marcus anyway and a violent confrontation ensues. Ultimately Marcus tries to shoot Sam and Alcide kills him to protect Sam. ("Soul of Fire")
Rikki tracks Sam down to find out what happened to Marcus. She brings Sam to the pack and Nate tortures Sam to find out what happened. Sam claims to have murdered him and buried him in a shallow grave. The pack takes Sam to the burial site. Alcide intervenes and admits that he killed Marcus. The pack refuses to bow to him and they mourn Marcus as a group by eating his corpse. ("Turn! Turn! Turn!")
JD Carson becomes packmaster but cedes control of the pack to the vampire Russell Edgington in exchange for his blood. The pack have been helping Russell to recover from being buried underground, capturing humans for him to feed on while he recuperates in an abandoned asylum. Nate, Woody and other members of the pack are involved in the alliance.
Alcide Herveaux learns of Russell's escape and helps the Vampire Authority to track him to the asylum. JD has his pack attack Alcide's party just as they find Russell. Nate assumes his wolf form and attacks the vampire Bill Compton. They are unsuccessful in defending Russell; Nate and Woody are killed and Russell is captured.
