Lafayette is a very hard-working citizen of Bon Temps. He has several jobs, including cooking for [[Sam Merlotte|Sam]] at [[Merlotte's Bar and Grill|Merlotte's]], working with [[Jason Stackhouse]] and [[Hoyt Fortenberry]] on the road crew, and also many questionable or outright illegal pursuits. He is a drug dealer, selling [[Vampire Blood|V]] and other drugs (such as Vicodin and marijuana) - [[Jason Stackhouse]] has said that Lafayette sells everything. Lafayette has a pornographic web site, and even got Jason to appear on it in exchange for V. He also operates as a gay prostitute with many clients, including a senator. The Vampire from whom he gets his V supply gives his blood willingly in exchange for sexual favors from Lafayette. Lafayette once confronted a group of customers, including [[Royce Williams]], at Merlotte's after they insinuated that a hamburger he cooked had AIDS. After licking the top burger bun and slapping it in the face of one customer, he beats up all of them when they attack him, and dumps the plate onto the stomach of the customer that said the burger had AIDS. He then reminded them to "tip [their] waitress".

[[Amy Burley|Amy]] and [[Jason Stackhouse|Jason]] followed Lafayette to find out where he was getting his V supply and kidnap the vampire, Eddie, to harvest his blood. After finding out about Eddie's disappearance, Lafayette confronts Jason at Arlene's party and vows that he won't turn up dead because of him. Lafayette later threatens a Senator who is also one of Lafayette's clients. After [[Sookie Stackhouse|Sookie]] survives the attack from [[Drew Marshall|Drew]], Lafayette, Sam, [[Tara Thornton|Tara]], and [[Arlene Fowler Bellefleur|Arlene]] all come to check on her. Lafayette leaves to make sure Terry isn't "PTSDing all over [his] clam chowder," and is kidnapped (the kidnapper is revealed to be [[Eric Northman|Eric]] in Season 2).

Sookie explains that Debbie tried to kill her but Tara jumped in the way. When Pam enters, Pam views Debbie's dead body with her head lying in a pool of blood with her jaw missing. Later on Sookie and Lafayette bury Tara in the backyard for a turning. When Sookie enters the house to clean up Debbie's body. Sookie explains that she wanted to kill Debbie for Tara's murder. Debbie's last appearance is when Sookie picks up pieces of her jaw and drags away her body. {{Crossref|5x01}}

[[Jason Stackhouse]] and Andy Bellefleur discover Debbie's truck parked a quarter a mile away from the Stackhouse home. Inside is vampire blood, her drivers license and it is revealed her real name is Deborah and her middle name is Susan. If you look closely you can see a picture of Debbie on her license. A year later its revealed that Debbie was able to detox from V and cease being dependent on it, having been sober for nearly a year. Along with this, she greatly cleans up her formerly deteriorating appearance, so that she looks much more respectable and becomes more polite. She and [[Alcide Herveaux|Alcide]] resume their relationship and are currently living together. She has also seems to have found religion in the form of Christianity.

When [[Sookie Stackhouse|Sookie]] came to talk to [[Alcide Herveaux|Alcide]], Debbie sincerely apologized for attacking her, and asked for her forgiveness, although she nervously overdoes her hospitality. While Sookie doesn't forgive her yet, Sookie expects her to get better saying "stranger things had happen". {{crossref|4x03}}

After Alcide returns home from helping Sookie, he and Debbie begin to make out on their sofa. She seems to be jealous of Sookie, but plays it off that she isn't. {{crossref|4x04}}
Alcide and Debbie are headed to join a new pack after [[Marcus Bozeman]] visited their home, when they find Sookie in the woods as she searched for Jason under a full moon. She asks them about werepanthers, and Alcide gives her information. Sookie is out on a full-moon night, and it's obvious that Alcide is worried about her, however he followed Debbie instead. {{Crossref|4x06}}
The same night she is excited to be at the pack meeting and later she suggests Alcide to find Sookie. However they stumbled upon Sookie having sex with Eric in the woods.

While having sex with Alcide, Debbie asks if he is thinking about seeing Sookie and Eric. Alcide explains to Debbie that, while he cares about Sookie, he is not in love with Sookie. He says that he is in love with Debbie, and that she should not be afraid of losing him. {{crossref|4x07}}
Feeling abandoned by Alcide who in her impression, worries too much about Sookie, she makes him promise not to approach her anymore. However, he breaks his promise by going to rescue the telepath in the cemetery whilst a battle rages between vampires, and [[Marnie Stonebrook|Marnie]] and the witches, without realizing that Debbie (in the form of wolf) has followed him. She seems to put herself on the road to vengeance, but when her boyfriend returns home, Debbie makes as if she had seen nothing. {{crossref|4x08}}
The next day, she buys a dose of V from a dealer to give herself some courage and speaks face-to-face with Sookie. They both finally make peace, Sookie reading her thoughts and Debbie making her understand that Alcide is the man who counts for her (admitting that Cooter was the worst thing in her life). {{crossref|4x09}}

Debbie helps Sookie get into the [[Moon Goddess Emporium]] by making Marnie answer the door and claiming the werewolves want an alliance with the witches. Sookie tries to free [[Eric Northman|Eric]] but is unable to because he is hypnotized under a spell. Sookie reads the thoughts of Tara, who is being held hostage by Marnie. Tara warns her that Marnie is planning to attack the "[[Festival of Tolerance]]" and Sookie rushes there to warn Bill. {{crossref|4x09}}
Debbie soon gives in to the romantic advances of her packmaster [[Marcus Bozeman]], who promises her a better future that will include motherhood for her, something Alcide does not want. {{crossref|4x10}} Debbie gets caught with Marcus when Alcide, [[Sam Merlotte]] and [[Luna Garza]] confront him over kidnapping his and Luna's daughter [[Emma Garza|Emma]]. Marcus had been trying to convince Debbie to run away with him, but she turned him down because of her feelings for Alcide. Upon seeing Debbie betraying his trust though, Alcide snaps and [[Abjuration|abjures]] her, just after having murdered Marcus to protect Sam. Debbie is left alone in the house, all of her lovers taken from her, sobbing. {{crossref|4x11}}

During Halloween, she manages to make her way inside Sookie's house and waits for her to return. When she does she confronts Sookie with a shotgun, ready to kill her saying "I should have done this a long time ago" and shoots at her. However, Tara takes the shot to the side of her head to save Sookie, shocking Debbie long enough for Sookie to charge her down and disarm her. Sookie elbows her in the struggle and grabs the shotgun. Debbie begs for her life as Sookie hold the gun on her. Sookie, angry over Tara, pulls the trigger, blowing her jaw off. {{crossref|4x12}}

Eventually Cooter walks over but Debbie tells him that he should let Alcide stay and watch, since that's the only way he'll understand and leave them alone. During the ceremony, Debbie is branded. {{crossref|3x04}} The next morning she visits Alcide's apartment and threatens Sookie for sleeping with Alcide. {{crossref|3x05}}

When Bill was tortured by [[Lorena Krasiki|Lorena]] in the "slave quarters", Cooter and Debbie, with Lorena's permission, drink Bill's blood. {{crossref|3x06}} The two leave but she later returns and busts in on Alcide, Sookie, and Tara when they are trying to rescue [[Bill Compton]]. She is frazzled and just wants some more V.

Sookie screams to distract her and Tara slams her against a wall and disarms her. Alcide picks up the gun just as Debbie's fiance, Cooter, walks in. Cooter makes a move towards Alcide but Alcide shoots him in the chest and then the head. Debbie is enraged by Coot's death and advances on Alcide but he holds her off by pointing her own gun at her. She threatens to hunt Alcide down and Alcide says he believes her before he locks her in the "slave quarters". {{crossref|3x07}}

The next night, Debbie goes to [[Russell Edgington|Russell]] and begs him to let her hunt down Sookie, Alcide and Tara. Russell promises that she will have her time with Sookie once she is captured. She along with [[Gus]] and another werewolf accompany Russell when he goes to [[Bon Temps, Louisiana|Bon Temps]] after Sookie. While Russell waits outside and Gus and the other werewolf fight with Bill and [[Jessica Hamby|Jessica]], she goes upstairs after Sookie. Debbie disarms Sookie and the two start fighting. After cutting Debbie's face with scissors, Sookie retrieves her shotgun and forces Debbie to jump out the window and run away. {{crossref|3x08}}

Jason obliges and starts to choke her till she falls unconscious and won't wake up. Believing he had killed her, Jason runs out of her apartment leaving Maudette tied up. Jason spent the next day worried and wondering when the police would come for him. {{crossref|1x01}}

After the police found the sex tape of Jason and Maudette they showed it to him. While being questioning, he admitted to killing her, believing he had choked her to death. However at the end of the tape, Maudette unties herself and laughs after Jason left her apartment, showing he didn't kill her. After spending the day believing he had killed someone and thrown his life away, Jason sought comfort with [[Dawn Green]], his former girlfriend. {{crossref|1x02}}

After Jason discovered that Dawn has had sex with a [[Eric Northman|vampire]], he was disgusted with her but stopped criticizing her in order to have sex. The two began to have a relationship until one night Jason couldn't get an erection. He and Dawn started to fight and Dawn threw him out of her house. Jason went to [[Lafayette]] to buy Viagra. Lafayette however, said he needed [[Vampire Blood|V]] because it is much more powerful. The next day Dawn was found dead by Sookie and Jason. {{crossref|1x03}}

Jason was the prime suspect in the Bon Temps murders as he had just had sex with both victims before their deaths. Jason was arrested and, while in the cop car, realized he still had the illegal V on him. He panicked and drank the whole vial, even though Lafayette warned him to take no more than two drops. While in the police station Jason developed an acute erection which would not go away, a serious medical condition known as priapism. He left the interrogation room to go to the bathroom but began to panic when [[Andy Bellefleur|Andy]] started demanding he come out. [[Tara Thornton|Tara]] came to Jason's aid and reminded Andy that if he could not charge Jason with anything. Andy had no choice but to let him go. Later that night, Tara finds Jason in the walk-in cooler of [[Merlotte's]] with a frozen ribeye on his penis. Tara takes Jason to the hospital and he has the blood drained out of his penis. {{crossref|1x06}}

Lafayette advised Jason again on the dosage, then proceeds to show Jason the right way to take it. The same night, he attended the [[Descendants of the Glorious Dead]] meeting, being under the influence of V and confessing his love for Tara. Later at Merlotte's, Tara catches him having sex behind the bar with a trashy customer who is celebrating her divorce. {{crossref|1x05}}

When his gran is murdered, several attempts are made to call Jason. He however, does not answer his phone.

The next day after arriving at work, Jason learns the news of Gran's death from Lafayette, Rene and Hoyt. He rushes to Gran's home, arriving during the wake. He runs in the house, confronts Sookie and slaps her, accusing her of causing Gran's death due to her vampire relationships. After the funeral, he tries to apologize for his inappropriate manners to Sookie with no results. {{crossref|1x06}}

While looking for a new place to buy V, Jason finds himself in [[Fangtasia]] where he meets [[Amy Burley|Amy]], a young, attractive V addict. The two begin a relationship and for awhile are very happy, until they ran out of V. They resort to kidnapping Lafayette's V source, vampire [[Eddie Gauthier]], for his blood {{crossref|1x07}}, {{crossref|1x08}}

Amy stakes the vampire before he can kill them. {{crossref|1x10}} Jason is upset by Eddie's [[true death]] and tells Amy they were no longer going to do V. Amy agrees and they throw it all out, apart from enough for one more high.

During this last V trip, the real killer, [[Drew Marshall]], AKA René Lenier, kills. Amy because she was involved with vampires. Jason wakes up to find her dead and thought he had killed her while on his V high. He confesses to her murder along with Maudette's and Dawn's. {{crossref|1x11}} Once it was revealed that René was the real killer, Jason was let go. He was still distraught and confused by the events that had happened to him. He seeks answers about his recent experiences from the [[Fellowship of the Sun]], a vampire-hating church. {{crossref|1x12}}

He did not go to college as he failed to earn a football scholarship. Jason earned a reputation for sleeping around with the women of [[Bon Temps|Bon Temps]]. These included [[Dawn Green]], although he stopped calling her after he got bored with her.

Immediately after learning of Russell's escape [[Alcide Herveaux|Alcide]] informs [[Sookie Stackhouse|Sookie]]. She clearly wasn't aware of Russell's continued existence. She had been untruthfully told by Bill and Eric, the former Vampire King had met the [[The True Death|True Death]] at their hands over a year ago. Alcide offers Sookie protection from Russell, who will no doubt be craving the taste of her blood. Sookie however, resolves to deal with the situation herself. Alcide then phones Eric and alerts him to the danger they are all in.

A dead body is being dragged through the corridor of a dilapidated building by an unidentified man. He shoves the corpse into a room where a starving Russell gorges himself on it, splattering the glass door with blood. {{crossref|5x01}}

After being arrested and interrogated by the [[Vampire Authority|Authority]], Bill and Eric disclose the truth about Russell's fate to the seven [[Authority Chancellor|Chancellors]], and their [[Guardian]] [[Roman Zimojic]]. They offer to hunt down Russell themselves, in exchange for their own liberty.

Russell is lying on a hospital bed in the same dilapidated building. He is still badly disfigured from the trauma he suffered a year ago, but gradually regaining strength. As he slowly licks blood from his lips, the fang taken by Eric as a trophy re-grows. {{crossref|5x02}}

While some question the truthfulness of Bill and Eric's testimony, Roman ultimately relents. He reveals the [[Sanguinista]] have made Russell their poster boy due to his murder of [[Jerry McCafferty]] on national television a year ago. Roman proceeds to recruit the newly turned [[Steve Newlin]], to serve as the Authority's new spokesman. This in case should Russell return public and attempt to wreck havoc on the Vampires Rights Movement once again. {{crossref|5x03}}

After being equipped with iStakes Bill and Eric are released from the Authority's custody and sent to track Russell down, while the Chancellor's monitor their progress.

After questioning their respective Progenies on Russell's escape Bill and Eric decide to enlist Sookie's telepathy to aid them in their hunt. {{crossref|5x04}}

After successfully persuading Sookie to assist them in the search for Russell Bill, Eric and Alcide approach [[Doug]], an employee of Herveaux Construction and the only witness of Russell's escape. Sookie uses her telepathy to break through the glamouring and forces him to relive his recollections of the event. By doing this, Sookie learns that Russell was unearthed by a female vampire dressed in black and wearing a golden pendant bearing the symbol of [[Lilith]]. This identified her as a Chancellor of the Authority and drastically reduces the number of suspects. Using Doug's memories to guide them, Sookie leads them all to an abandoned asylum where they discover dismembered human bodies, as well as living prisoners. One of the prisoners directs them to the morgue, where the captives are taken. Once inside they finally discover Russell himself. He greets them casually, commenting on the amount of noise they made while searching for him. {{crossref|5x05}}

Russell's wolves come to their master's defense, distracting Bill, Eric and Alcide. This allows Russell to corner Sookie, who repels him with her photokinetic powers. Eric prepares to stake Russell, but is prevented from doing so by Bill/ He suggests that they use him as bargaining chip to negotiate with the Authority. Ultimately the decision is taken out of their hands by Kibwe, who arrives with a squad of [[V-Feds]] and takes the enraged Russell into custody.

During his execution, Russell denounces the Authority as hypocrites and the Sanguinistas as cowards. However, as the iStake malfunctions,Russell quickly overpowers Roman and stakes him. {{crossref|5x06}}

Russell then tackles Eric and tells him "Me and you together at last." Eric bares his fangs and so does Russell.The lights begin to blink on and off brightly. During the comotion AVL guards swarm into the room and catch Russell, bringing him down using a silver net. He is then placed back into security.

Bill and Eric realize they were being used to bring Russell to the Authority so he could kill Roman. They're trying to find out why Russell's restraints didn't work, saying if silver was injected into him there was no way he could've killed Roman so fast. They also wonder why the iStakes didn't work. Molly, who is in charge of the iStakes, doesn't know why either and is in the process of trying to find out. They are called to meet with Salome and Nora. While standing in Salome's room, Russell makes a sudden appearance and tells them he has been reborn. Nora tells Eric she tries to save him because she knew about Russell. Salome admits to digging up Russell because he was the only vampire powerful enough to get rid of Roman. She says they're interested in sharing their power with everyone and want them to join them. Neither Eric or Bill are interested. Salome tells them of a ceremony taking place the following night and gives them to option to attend.

Russell tells those at the ceremony he disavows himself of his previous statements and says he loves Lilith. Nora says that that night at the ceremony everybody will drink from Lilith's blood. Chancellor Dieter speaks up saying it is blasphemy. He says he has been part of the Authority since Roman first founded it and he will not go along with any of this. Russell decapitates the chancellor before he can finish, killing him. After that, Russell apologizes to Lilith.

Everybody who drank from Lilith wanders around town in a drunk-like state, intimidating humans in what appears to be the French Quarter. During a private karaoke party Russell appears and starts singing until everyone freaks out. Suddenly the other vampires zoom in and begin to kill everyone. {{crossref|5x07}}

In the aftermath of the massacre at the karaoke bar, the Chancellors return to the Authority's headquarters, where they revel in the afterglow of their actions. With Salome now established as Roman's successor, the newly reconstituted Authority sets about planning on how best to dismantle the mainstreaming movement. Russell however, shows little interest in the matter, preferring to flirt with Steve Newlin. {{crossref|5x08}}

The relationship between Russell and Steve develops a little more. They travel to Shreveport together and Russell tells Newlin some of his history with werewolves. Newlin says he's never had a pet. They walk into a barn and Russell greets JD and the entire pack. Russell bites his own wrist while the wolves flock to him for a drop or two. He notices [[Martha Bozeman]], who is holding [[Emma Garza]]. When Martha says she'll never drink from Russell, he grabs Emma and gives her to Newlin as his first pet. {{crossref|5x09}}

Russell is present with the other chancellors when Molly is sentenced to the true death for trying to escape with Eric. After Molly is staked Russell gets up and states that "all this talk of killing" has made him hungry. He and Steve then go out and feed.

After feeding on a room full of innocent humans, Russell and Steve are dancing to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream." Russell explains to Steve that there is a way they can walk in the sun.

Russell and Kibwe are in the sanctum of the Authority watching Steve on television and Russell comments on Steve's looks. Shortly thereafter, Eric, Nora and Bill walk in. Eric explains how he now believes in Lilith. Eric then kneels before Russell and thanks him for his mercy and forgives him for killing his family.

When all the chancellors are gathered formulating plans about spreading the word of Lilith, Russell interjects. He explains that walking in the day will make them more powerful. He presents a plan to capture and breed fairies and synthesize their blood. Salome refuses it saying fairies are an abomination and the sun is forbidden. Salome then says she can put Russell back into the ground should she choose to. Russell throws Salome across the room and asks what is preventing him from killing all of the other chancellors. He then walks on top of the table and, in his native central European accent, belittles the vampire religion and professes his desire to walk in the sun. Obsessed with daywalking, Russell travels to Bon Temps, boytoy Steve Newlin in tow. They 'acquire' Jason Stackhouse and glamour him into taking them to Sookie. Arriving at Hot Wings, Russell can smell the fairies but can't see them. The crazed vampire threatens to kill Jason if Sookie doesn't come out. He is confronted by the faery elder who blasts Steve Newlin. Russell subdues the powerful fae and drains her dry. Now able to see all faeries present Russell moves to attack them. {{crossref|5x11}}

Overconfident and high on Faerie blood, Russell advances on the other Faeries. He claims their Light tickles slightly and only whets his appetite for them. After getting close and boasting his own power, he realizes too late that Eric Northman, sensing Sookie's fear, has appeared behind him. Eric grabs him from behind and stakes him.
