Feeling a little foggy on how we got here?
If you're like me, then you tend to re-watch the previous season shortly before the new season premieres. What can I say, I'm addicted. If you're *not* quite as crazy of a Trubie, and don't have time for all that, here's a quick refresher on the main characters from season 5 - all in one place:
Sookie • Bill • Eric • Sam • Alcide • Pam • Lafayette • Jessica • Jason • Tara |
Sookie Stackhouse
Sookie drives up to her house. Entering, she finds Debbie Pelt in the kitchen holding a rifle. Lafayette hears a gun blast and runs downstairs to see Tara shot in the head. Lafayette runs into the kitchen, hearing Sookie yelling for help and holding Tara. Pam shows up looking for Eric. But before she leaves, Lafayette begs for her to turn Tara into a vampire. Sookie first opposes the idea, but then says she will "owe her one". Pam only wants Sookie to help her mend the relationship between herself and Eric. Pam bites her wrist and bleeds into Tara's open mouth.
Pam crawls into a hole dug by Lafayette and Sookie and lays next to Tara. At first, she doesn't care to "hold" Tara, but begrudgingly does so. Sookie and Lafayette cover them with dirt. Lafayette is in the kitchen at Sookie's taking pills as she begins to clean up Debbie's body. Sookie says Lafayette doesn't have to help if he doesn't want to. He asks why she won't just call the police; they would believe a white girl. Sookie said that it wasn't self-defense; that she wanted to kill Debbie. She wanted to pull the trigger. Lafayette gets some gloves and helps.
Sookie and Lafayette arrive at his home to help get rid of Jesus' body. When Lafayette walks into his home, however, Jesus is missing. Lafayette cannot understand where he went or what happened. Lafayette is clearly upset and needs to say goodbye to Jesus. He tries to use his medium powers and calls out to Jesus, but fails.
Sookie takes a shower, during which she has a flashback from when she was a pre-teen. She wants to play baseball with the other kids. She can use her telepath skills to listen to the kids, and hears them calling her names in their minds. When she threatens a boy with reveling his masturbatory habits, he calls her crazy and attacks Sookie. A young Tara comes to her aid and punches the boy. Sookie's mind returns to the present, and she leaves her shower. She looks out the window at the ground where Pam and Tara are nesting.
Lafayette is sitting on Sookie's bed when she says the bathroom is all his, and she left a fresh towel. Lafayette takes a bath, and while he does, he stares at a pink razor nearby.
Hearing a knock on the door, Sookie answers to find Alcide standing there. He comes in and warns her that Russell Edgington is now on the loose. He tells her she should join him for safety. She is about to tell him about Debbie, but Lafayette—now completely bald-headed, having apparently used the razor to shave it—comes downstairs and tells Alcide to leave. He says they are done with his kind, or any supernatural kind. Alcide growls at him, but Lafayette doesn't back down saying "don't growl at me". Sookie tells him he should go and that she can't leave. Alcide says she knows where to find him, if she changes her mind. Lafayette talks to Sookie telepathically. He also says the sun will be going down soon, and that they should be there for Tara.
Lafayette leaves to get them some food in the house. Sookie sees Pam's hand emerge from the soil. She is clearly aggravated. Sookie asks if it worked, and Pam says she doesn't know. Sookie digs at the grave, finally finding Tara's cold, lifeless head and begins to cry. Lafayette turns the corner and sees what is happening. He gets clearly upset as well. Then, in an instant, Tara emerges with lightning speed as a vampire and attempts to attack Sookie. In shock, Sookie tries to crawl away and yells "Lafayette!".("Turn! Turn! Turn!")
Sookie is bitten by Tara and is unable to get her off, even with the assistance of Lafayette. Pam finally comes to her aide and pulls Tara away. She tells them not to bite them. Then, using vampire speed, Pam puts Tara in the house and tells her not go anywhere.
Tara is inside Sookie's kitchen and begins to tear it apart. Sookie asks Lafayette to grab her. Unsure how, she mentions that there is Tru Blood in the cupboard. He walks slowly to retrieve it, and sets it in front of her. Sookie tells her she's got to eat, and in a flash she throws Lafayette down to the ground and pops out her fangs. He calls for Sookie, and Tara starts to hit herself in the head- knowing something isn't right. In vampire speed, she leaves the kitchen and runs upstairs, where she begins to destroy more property.
Lafayette goes upstairs to look for Tara. They know they must get her to the cubby before daylight. Lafayette cuts his arm and uses it as a ruse to get Tara to emerge. Once she does, Sookie binds her by the neck with silver and they began to carry her downstairs.
Sookie goes to the Stake House to find supplies to bind Tara while she is in captivity. There she sees Steve Newlin on television now explaining he is still a Christian but a vampire as well. The salesman is obviously mad, saying he use to be his hero. He offers a "silver mister" to her. Telepathically, Sookie listens to the clerk's thoughts. He mentions a vamp killing and that she would fuck him after. Sookie then states that killing a vampire or human is against the law.
Sookie is on the front porch installing the Silver Mister, when she returns into the house and telepathically hears Lafayette in the cubby with Tara. He is saying he should have never done this to Tara and preparing to stake her. Sookie runs to the cubby and begs him not to go through with it. She says it's still new, just as Jessica was from the start and to have faith and give it time. She says they will make a life for her.
Night falls and Tara emerges from her cubby and inches closer to Lafayette and Sookie. When Sookie says "Tara", she looks at her and says "I will never forgive either of you." She bolts from the front door and is sprayed with the silver liquid before disappearing into the night. ("Authority Always Wins")
Lafayette and Sookie chase Tara through the woods but are unable to find her. Sookie goes to Fangtasia, begging Pam to help her to find Tara. Pam shows disinterest and threatens to kill Sookie if she does not leave the bar. Sookie refuses and Pam pushes her against a table. Sookie retaliates using her powers to knock Pam off her feet and walks away.
Lafayette returns to Sookie's house and tells her that he looked everywhere for Tara . He checked Merlotte's, which was closed, and checked at Tara's mother's house without revealing that Tara had become a vampire. Sookie hopes that Tara has the sense to find somewhere safe to sleep before sunrise.
Lafayette and Sookie arrive at work as Arlene runs crying to the bathroom following a fight with Terry. Sookie asks Sam if he has seen Tara. He lies, but she reads his mind and discovers that he has put her in the walk in freezer to shield her from the sunlight. Sam freaks out at Sookie for her involvement in Tara becoming a vampire. Sookie tells him that she was going to die if she didn't do something about it. Sam tells Sookie that his brother died in his arms and wonders if he should have fought for him. From his perspective, he says Sookie gave Tara a second chance, and it's up to Tara in what she wants to do with it. With Tara in the freezer, Sookie tells Lafayette that they have to spend the day at work ensuring that no one walks in there and learns about Tara.
Andy questions Sookie about Debbie's location while she is working. Sookie tells him that she and Debbie never got along due to her friendship with Alcide.,She maintains that while she didn't like Debbie, she doesn't know where she is. During the questioning, a paranoid Lafayette is watching and drinking by the bar. Andy lets Sookie walk and requests to speak to Holly outside. Lafayette tells Sookie they're screwed and that they're going to jail, but Sookie remains the stronger of the two and tells Lafayette to hold it together. Lafayette agrees and yells at Arlene about cold food left behind his serving counter. While Sookie pours a cup of coffee, she is seen trembling in fear.
Lafayette tries to give Tara a bottle of TruBlood after she awakens in the Merlotte's freezer. Alcide pays Sookie a visit to ask about Debbie. Sookie immediately denies knowing anything and assures him that there is nothing going on. Tara throws Lafayette through the freezer door. Alcide, Sookie, Arlene and Sam quickly go to check on him. Sookie pretends to be oblivious to what happened to Tara and asks why she was in the freezer. Tara tells Sookie not to play dumb. Tara reveals her fangs, frightening Arlene. Tara warns all of them to stay away from her or she'll kill them, quickly leaving through the back door. Alcide glares at Sookie, walking away.
Sookie explains to Alcide what happened to Debbie, revealing that she killed her because she shot Tara. Angry, Alcide questions if Sookie was planning on keeping it a secret from him. Sookie admits that she was because she knew he loved Debbie and didn't know what Alcide would do. Alcide yells at Sookie, angry that he has had her back since day one and yet she lied to his face. Sookie delicately asks him if he plans to tell anyone. Alcide says nothing and walks away. ("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
Sookie tries to apologize to Alcide as he drives out of the Merlotte's Bar and Grill parking lot. Lafayette runs over to Sookie and learns that she told Alcide everything. Sookie tells Lafayette that they can't keep lying or they'll keep digging themselves deeper. Lafayette says that he doesn't enjoy the lies, but expected Sookie to keep quiet about murdering Debbie Pelt after the multiple times he has covered for her. Sookie tells Lafayette that she didn't tell Alcide about him being involved, but Lafayette refuses to listen. Sookie tries to reason with him, saying that they have to start doing right and that it'll be okay. Lafayette says Sookie will survive, as usual, but she always leaves a trail of bodies behind as a result. Lafayette then calls Sookie the angel of death and leaves her crying.
Sookie pounds on Jason's door. When he opens it, she barges in and admits to killing Debbie. Jason doesn't believe her until she reveals the details of what happened. Jason tells her that he doesn't want to hear another word and demands she leave. He asserts that their conversation never happened. Sookie tells Jason that she has already told Alcide and begs Jason to put her in jail. Jason refuses and tells Sookie to act normal tomorrow while he figures out what to do for her. He asks if Alcide is the only one who knows and Sookie admits that Lafayette and Tara were also there. She explains that Tara was shot and raised as a vampire; Jason is appalled and disbelieving. Sookie rationalizes that she didn't have time to think and had to act or Tara was going to die. Jessica comes out of Jason's bedroom after hearing everything, also shocked to learn about that happened to Tara.
Holly walks in on Sookie in the bathroom by mistake and apologizes. As she waits, Sookie hears her thoughts. Holly thinks about how she can get through her shift around Sookie after what she did to Tara. Sookie returns to the restaurant, hearing everyone's thoughts, as they blame her for what happened to Tara.
Lafayette steps out of his car behind Merlotte's and notices Sookie's car. He begins speaking in tongues and holds both hands out lifting Sookie's car from the ground. His demon suddenly emerges, placing a spell on the vehicle.
Sookie drives down the highway and notices her car picking up speed. She realizes that her brakes aren't working while the gas pedal is pushing down by itself. The vehicle continually picks up speed. Sookie panics and jumps out of her car just before it crashes into a pole.
Sookie arrives home and roots through her liquor cabinet for a drink. Later, Sookie drunkenly sings along with music alone in her living room. Lafayette calls and asks if she's okay after finding her wrecked car. Lafayette nervously says that he is coming over and Sookie assures him that she is okay. Sookie hears a knock on her door and sees Alcide, telling him to come in. Sookie asks Lafayette to call and have her car towed to a mechanic. Lafayette tries to confess what happened but Sookie hangs up. Alcide explains to Sookie that he lied to Debbie's parents, covering for Sookie while satisfying their need to find out what happened to Debbie. Sookie is grateful and apologizes for involving him. She offers him a drink and he accepts.
Sookie gives Alcide a drink that Tara used to make for her. He takes a sip, says it is horrible and laughs. Sookie tries to make him to drink him again. Alcide refuses and Sookie straddles him saying he'd to anything for her and that he loves her. Alcide tells her to go screw herself, smiling. Sookie then begins to make out with Alcide. ("We’ll Meet Again")
Sookie and Alcide continue making out on her couch. Alcide picks her up, takes her upstairs and both begin to undo their clothes. Once Sookie's shirt comes off, he proclaims he's been waiting a long time to sleep with her. Sookie suddenly throws up on Alcide's shoes. Bill and Eric stand idly by Sookie's door with Eric teasing Alcide about knowing how to treat a lady.
Sookie is sitting at her table with Bill and Eric while Alcide is cleaning his boots in the back. Bill requests Sookie to try and read Alcide's employee's mind, Doug, who was glamoured after Russell was freed. Alcide says he doesn't want Doug mixed up in vampire business, saying fangers bring nothing but trouble and death. Eric retorts that they don't need his permission. As they argue about the current situation with Russell, a still drunken Sookie then begins to hear all three men bark like dogs and starts to laugh. When they stop and realize, Sookie apologizes and admits that she felt if she makes the right choices that her life would go back to normal. Then she realizes that it's not going to change and comes to accept the fact that her life would always revolve around the supernatural. She grabs her jacket and goes with Bill and Eric to hunt Russell, Alcide also joining along.
Bill, Eric, Alcide and Sookie show up to meet Doug. Sookie asks if she could read his mind and he lets her. While he says he doesn't remember much, Sookie sees his thoughts and a woman approaches him but Sookie can't make out who it is. She then sees another of Doug's thoughts of this woman digging Russell out with her hands. A terribly weak and blood deprived Russell is seen being held and Sookie notices the woman wearing the same pendant the Authority wears. She tells this to Bill and Eric, and Bill accuses Eric of telling Nora about Russell, to which Eric promptly denies. Bill continues accusing Nora of freeing Russell and Eric deems it absurd, considering the great lengths Nora went through to free them both.
Sookie, Doug and Alcide are seen in a truck driving. Sookie asks if Alcide wants to talk about her throwing up on his shoes and he says no. Sookie continues reading Doug's thoughts to learn where he might have taken Russell. Eventually they find Russell in the asylum. And suddenly wolves attack ("Let's Boot and Rally")
Alcide is being dragged away by a wolf before he can transform and take it on. Wolves also attack Eric and Bill, leaving Sookie exposed. A still-weak but hungry Russell closes on Sookie, and is about to bite her when she suddenly manifests balls of faerie light from her hands, sending him flying against a wall.
Before he can recover, Eric and Bill subdue their wolf attackers, and Eric grabs Russell by the throat. But before he can end him, Bill comes up behind Eric, holding him at bay with a stake. He proposes that they take Russell alive, reasoning that if they succeed, the Authority might spare them. Eric doesn't believe him. "Maybe you are ready to die. Maybe you're just bored after a thousand years. But you do not make that decision for me," Bill says. Before Eric can answer, the Authority's strike team lead by Councilman Kibwe swarms the building and tells the group that they'll take over from that point.
As Russell is being led away the council member asks Bill and Eric why Sookie and Alcide are there, and they make up a story about finding them, and Doug, along the way. "They know too much," Kibwe says, but Bill assures them that they'll be glamoured. The councilman agrees, leaving one of the team behind to witness it. Bill goes to Sookie and tells her to look him in the eyes. Bill tells Sookie that she'll remember nothing of the night, nothing of him or Eric. It will be as though we never met, Bill tells Sookie. But Bill is only pretending to glamour her, because as a fairy Sookie is not susceptible to it. Bill tells Sookie to live her life as she was meant to live it, in the sun with others like her.
Back at Sookie's, Alcide comes downstairs in the morning to find Sookie sitting alone in the kitchen. He asks if Sookie's OK, then has flashbacks of the two of them having sex. Alcide asks what happened, and Sookie tells him that stuff happened. He obviously doesn't remember anything, so Sookie reaches for him. Alcide recoils, and Sookie realizes what Eric did as part of his glamour. She then makes Alcide hold on to her hand and returns his memories of Russell and the asylum to him. Alcide suddenly recognizes one of the wolves as JD, flares up at the trouble Bill and Eric have caused and storms off. "Bye," Sookie sullenly mutters. "I'm just going to stay here and quietly slip into a coma."
At Merlotte's, Sookie, Arlene and Holly are complaining about men when Jason walks in and tells Sookie about the faerie nightclub. Sookie commands Jason to take her to the location. Jason takes Sookie to the field where the faerie club manifested, and at first she doesn't see anything. Then she senses it, and hears it and walks into what seems to be apparent nothingness. Jason can't follow her at first, but then she drags him in. Inside Sookie finds Hadley and Claudine's brother Claude as well.
As Jason and Sookie are talking to Claude, at the faerie club, Sookie asks if it's true that vampires killed her mother and father. Claude says that he only knows what Claudine told him: Unknown Vampire ambushed their parents because he was drawn to something he smelled in the back seat of their car. In a flashback, we see Sookie's parents in their car stopping on a bridge so they don't hit a man standing in the middle of the road. Then we see the man rifling through the backseat and finding a bandage with Sookie's blood on it. Sookie angrily says she doesn't believe him. She tries to manifest her faerie fire but it fails, and a group of faeries in the bar shoot their beams at her as she screams.
("Hopeless")
Back at the fairy club the Claude and his sister tell Sookie that since she is half human, her magic is finite. If she isn't careful how she uses it, it will run out and she will no longer be faerie. Sookie seems to be intrigued by this possibility.
Back at Sookie's house Jason makes her breakfast for lunch and they talk about what they just learned. Jason finds out that Sookie feels responsible for their parent's death for it was her blood the vampire was after. But Jason tells Sookie that it is not her fault at and tells her not to feel responsible.
Sookie then drops by with gifts for Luna. Sam then tells her what's been happening and Sookie offers to buy Sam coffee in the lobby. In the lobby Sam thanks Sook for the coffee and they sit and talk. Sookie then talks to Sam about being human. She asks Sam if had the choice to be human would he take it. But they say that despite them not being hated and feared anymore the hate would still be around them.
Sookie at home walks out to the front yard thinking about what she learned. That she can be human. Suddenly, Sookie begins to expel light from her hands trying to drain her powers.("In the Beginning")
Jason finds Sookie trying to use up all of her faerie light. She's tired of being a freak. He sits her down and talks about how her powers could help them down the road, particularly when it comes to learning about their parents.
Sookie and Jason go to the faerie club for aid finding out which vampire killed their parents. The Crane faeries agree to meet the following day at the bridge where their parents were killed.
At the bridge the faeries tell Sookie to attempt to connect with her mother the night she was killed to help them figure out who was responsible. She becomes her mother, watching as a vampire breaks into the car and kills her father. But then she starts seeing the event from the vampires point of view, as he kills her mother and then finds the band-aid with Sookie's blood in the backseat. Claudine shows up and drives the vampire away. Sookie is knocked off her feet (as the vampire was) and the vision ends.
The faeries are upset that Sookie has psychically bonded with the vampire. Sookie recalls that Claudine knew the vampire, calling him "Warlow".
Warlow appears to Sookie in a vision. He says he's coming for her and "you are mine." ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Lafayette helps Sookie to figure out why she is connected with the spirit of the vampire Warlow. He hears several voices all talking at the same time. He chastises the chattering spirits and hears a message from Gran. Gran says that Sookie is "sleeping on top of it." Sookie finds a box full of letters under her bed.
Sookie goes through the letters and albums in the box and finds a newspaper clipping about her parents' death. It mentions that Sheriff Bud was the one who found their bodies.
Sookie goes to Bud's home to ask about her parent's murders. He remembers evidence of a vampire attack, but at the time they thought it was a gator. Sookie reads his mind and hears that he's hiding something. But his thoughts make it clear he doesn't know Warlow. At that point Sweetie hits Sookie over the head with a frying pan and tells Bud to grab her body.
Sookie wakes up to find herself bound next to a pigpen. She looks over at Hoyt lying unconscious. Based on his thoughts, she believes that he has been drugged. One of the Obamas walks into the room.
Bud tells Sookie that somebody needs to do something about the vampires. Sweetie walks in and introduces herself. Their plan is to kill both Sookie (because she is a mind-reading "freak") and Hoyt (because he didn't take the chance to kill Jess, and even though he is human - he is into "supes", so he should die with them). They talk about wanting a law requiring supernaturals ("supes") be killed on-sight. Sookie reads Sweetie's mind and sees that her husband left her for a shifter; she is the Dragon. Bud forces Sookie to drink some ginger ale laced with oxycontin.
Sam, shifted into a pig, saves Sookie from being thrown into the pigpen by catching her. Sweetie runs away as soon as she sees the "dirty shifter." Sam takes on all the Obamas and fares well. Andy and Jason pull up. Andy pulls his gun on Bud. When Bud praises the humans and makes a move at Sam with his shovel Andy shoots him in the chest, killing him. Jason grabs Sookie, who points him to a very weak Hoyt. Outside Luna takes the form of a dog to run Sweetie down. Luna shifts back and begins to beat the snot out of Sweetie.
Hoyt is taken to the hospital with a weak pulse. Andy is about to take Sookie home because she refuses to get checked up. She says that she will be fine as soon as she has washed the pig out of her hair. Sam thanks Andy.
The television news reports that the manufacturers of Tru Blood have promised to rebuild all the destroyed Tru Blood plants. Steve Newlin is interviewed; he claims that Homeland Security are looking for the people responsible for the destruction (despite his involvement). Sookie walks in with the food Claude bought her and turns off her TV.
She sits down with the papers she found hidden under her floorboards but is interrupted by a knock on the door. Suspicious, she grabs a revolver and covers it with the papers. She looks through her window and seeing that it is Mike allows him into her house. She asks what he is doing there in the middle of the night. He answers that he came for the body. Sookie asks what body he is talking about. He says "Yours" and reveals his fangs. Sookie shoots at Mike and he chuckles that it does not hurt. Sookie goes to run but Mike grabs her and begins feeding on her leg. Sookie pulls out chopsticks from the take out and she stakes Mike through his back, destroying him.
Andy attends Sookie's house to process the scene of Mike's death. He reassures her that no charges will be brought against her. She wonders who turned Mike. Andy says that Mike loved his job. Their regard for the decedent does not last and they share memories of his creepiness.
Jason picks Sookie up from her home. She tries to console him about Hoyt's impending departure for Alaska and his request that Jessica glamour away all memory of both her and Jason. Jason is despondent about losing his friend and failing to progress their investigation into the murder of their parents; he learned nothing from Bud's files. He goes back over Sookie's message from their Gran, believing that she might have missed something. He finds that the box Sookie found was merely a distraction and Gran was actually pointing them towards a hidden compartment under the bed. Inside they find a metal box containing a scroll covered with arcane symbols.
Sookie and Jason seek the advice of an expert, symbologist Professor Kannell. He believes that the scroll is meaningless but could be written in a non human language.
Jason sees Hoyt's truck as he drives Sookie back from the college. He pulls him over and begs him to stay, despite Hoyt not recognizing him. Hoyt is not swayed from his purpose and Jason wishes him a safe journey. Sookie hugs her brother as he sobs over the loss of his friend.
Sookie takes the scroll to Claude and his sisters at the faerie bar. Claude does not recognize the language and suggests showing it to an older faerie, Maurella, who is almost 500 years old. Maurella recognizes it as a contract written in faerie blood. She uses her powers to reveal the meaning of the document "5 August 1702, I, John William Stackhouse, in reference to our binding agreement on this said date, do grant Mr. M. Warlow my first fae bearing female heir." Jason asks Claude who the first female faerie was in that family since 1702 and Claude says that there were none, until Sookie. ("Gone, Gone, Gone")
Sookie and Jason leave Hot Wings and discuss the vampire that killed their parents as they walk through the fairy's field. Sookie reveals to Jason that the ghost of Warlow told her he was coming for her.
Maurella and Claude lead Sookie to the Faerie Elder, explaining that due to her old age, it is very hard for her to concentrate on any one topic for very long. Sookie asks the Elder about Warlow and she tells her that her, Warlow and Sookie's destinies are intertwined. Jason interrupts, shouting for Sookie out in the field. He warns Sookie that Russell's is searching for her. The Faerie Elder is horrified that Russell is alive.
Sookie gathers the faeries in Hot Wings and explains the need to fight Russell, as opposed to just sitting back and doing nothing. Some of the faeries disagree, but the Elder sides with Sookie. After the meeting, Jason and Sookie have a heart to heart, and Jason agrees that he's going to fight alongside Sookie.
While keeping lookout for Sookie, Jason is attacked by Russell and Steve. Russell glamors Jason into leading him to Sookie and the other faeries.
Jason leads Russell to the faery's field. The elder tries to fight Russell, using her photokinesis to throw Steve across the field. She accidentally hits Jason too. However, Russell is too quick for her and drains her. Having consumed her blood, he is able to see into the faeries sanctuary. He sees Sookie with the faeries and moves to attack them. ("Sunset")
Having draining the Faery Elder, Russell can see the fae hideout and moves to attack. The Faeries use their combined power to hold him back. Sookie has to pause several times as her dwindling powers leave her unable to sustain the attack. Russell's advance is slowed by their blasts, but he believes that their light has no further effect on him. As the Faeries continue their attempt to keep him at bay, Russell is ambushed by Eric just as he is about to enter the nightclub. Eric takes advantage of the situation and manages to stake Russell bringing him the True Death, satisfying a long hled lust for revenge. Steve Newlin looks on in horror as his boyfriend is staked and then runs off into the woods.
Sookie rushes to help Jason and Nora finds herself drawn to Sookie's blood. Eric stops Nora and makes her swear not to touch Sookie. Jason is groggy from a head injury, but alive.
Jason hallucinates the he is seeing his parents urging him to hate vampires. Eric arrives with Tara and Nora asking for Sookie's help to save Bill. Eric says that she is the only one that can get through to Bill. Sookie agrees to help them to infiltrate the Authority. They arm themselves with weapons from the Stake House.
Eric arrives at the Authority and kills every vampire that approaches him. Jason revels in the violence against vampires, killing many himself. Salome is about to drink the Blood of Lilith, but hearing the alarm, she flees to her chamber. Nora and Eric disarms the building's security system and release the prisoners. Pam passionately kisses Tara as they are reunited.
Jessica is thrilled to see Jason and professes her love for him. He rejects her because she is a vampire. Eric sends most of the group in the elevator, warning them to expect more guards, then takes Sookie to find Bill.
Having grown tired of his old life and always apologizing for being vampire Bill refuses. He claims to have no real feelings for Sookie. He drinks the blood of Lilith. He begins to bleed from the eyes and mouth and then appears to be destroyed; leaving a puddle of blood behind. Sookie is devastated and Eric comforts her as she breaks down.
Bill rises again from the pool of his remains, coated in blood like Lilith and baring sharper, longer, fangs. Eric yells at Sookie to run. As they flee Bill growls demonically. ("Save Yourself")Bill Compton
Bill makes a phone call to Jessica telling her that he'll be out of town for a while and that she has nothing to worry about. So Bill tells Jessica that while he's gone his home to available to her, within reason. Eric in the background is quickly cleaning up Nan's bloody mess.
After Bill is off the phone he begins to help Eric scrub the floor when he suddenly feels Sookie is in danger. But Eric then stops Bill saying to forget about Sookie being she dumped both of them, so Bill continues cleaning. Bill feels her danger again and then gives in.
So he speeds out the house and suddenly an Authority task force runs out and pins Bill down with a silver net. Eric then attempts to escape but he too is then pinned down. Bill and Eric are then tossed into the trunk of a car.
Inside the trunk Bill and Eric devise a plan to escape. Eric reaches behind him and grabs an umbrella. He then pokes a hole in the cars gas tank and then the two find a way to make a fire to blow up the car. From the explosion Bill has a metal chunk from the car jabbed into his shoulder.
Eric comes for him and despite Bill's demand to be left Eric tells Bill he won't leave him. Then one of the vampire kidnappers walks out from the fire. Bill and Eric get ready to fight him but the kidnapper is suddenly destroyed by Nora, Eric's "sister". Nora is a double agent and planned to have Bill and Eric kidnapped to help them escape The Authority.
Nora leads them to a dock and they take ground in a Cargo Bed. The next night they meet a group of vampires. There Bill and Eric are new identities from Cat Ingerslev. Bill is now to go by "Marcelus Clark". suddenly the vampires around them begin to die and the Authority task force comes out and surrounds Bill, Nora, and Eric. ("Turn! Turn! Turn!")
Nora, Bill and Eric are transported to an unknown facility. Salome meets them as they are unloaded from the armored truck used to transport them. She takes them down to private cells and locks them inside. They are questioned via a camera/monitor on the ceiling.
Eric asks Bill what they should do now that they are locked away. They then hear from Nigel Beckford, an insane, baby-eating vampire who is also locked inside the cells. Bill says that Nora and Eric are both innocent. With the Authority believing Bill is lying, they use a UV light machine to burn all of them. They all keel over in agony until the light is shut off.
They are separated and tortured. Bill is taken before Dieter Braun. In the next room, Eric is undergoing the same interrogation, but the interrogator is Salome. Salome tells Eric that Nora's betrayal was unforgivable and that she has met the true death. Eric shows the hurt on his face, but doesn't say a word. When Salome asks who murdered Nan Flanagan Eric questions "Nan Flanagan is dead?". Salome hits a button, injecting Eric with silver liquid and he doubles over in agony. Salome then tells Eric that Bill has been freed for his cooperation and that he'll be reinstated as King. Eric doesn't buy it, and simply says "Long live the King", then get's more silver injected into him.
Eric and Bill are lead into a room with the Authority. Roman enters from a side door. Before speaking to them, he holds a type of communion with the blood of Roman (which he takes from his own wrist to symbolize that of Lilith's). One by one, he drops a blood into the mouths of each member. After the ceremony, Roman turns to Bill and Eric, stating he hates to meet under these circumstances. Nora is pulled out of the room, and Eric shows he wants to help her, yet he is bound and cannot. She yells out "I am innocent", before disappearing. Roman sits and starts to discuss of the errors they have made. The launcher used on main street, the fight breaking out between vampires and humans during the Festival of Tolerance. He tells them that they are the Authority, just as Nan was. He then tells them they will see the True death. Roman also asks about the Sanguistion movement. Bill says he knows nothing about it, and Eric says he tries to stay out of politics.
The Authority has a meeting before them. They all believe they should
meet the True death. Roman says that mainstreaming is the only way to live. That they must co-exist with humans. Salome opens a briefcase and pulls out a stake for Roman. Bill speaks up when asked if they have any final words. He says he will offer up an exchange."Our lives in return for Russell Edgington." Roman was told by Nan that Russell was dead but Bill assured him that Eric and he put him in the ground but did not kill him. Eric states that Russell has broken free. Whether they live or die, the Authority will find out soon enough. Bill says that Russell will obliterate the Authorities cause. Roman, in vampire speed stands behind Bill with a stake. Angry that he allowed the happenings with Russell. Eric yells out "quiet!", and that he was the one who did it. Roman is mad that Bill, a king, allowed it. Roman pulls back and says he cannot go on personal desires. Bill states that Russell will stop at nothing to kill Eric and Bill, and when he does, Roman will be there to put an end to him as they should have. ("Authority Always Wins")
The Authority continues to debate what to do with Bill and Eric for leaving Russell Edgington alive. Roman assures them that he will take their opinions under advisement and sends them away, except Salome. Roman reveals to Eric and Bill that Russell has become a "poster boy" for Sanguinistas for what he did on public television. Roman makes it clear to them that he will not see mainstreaming ruined by one ancient, pissed off psychopath. Bill and Eric assure him that they understand and promise to bring Russell in or die trying. Roman dismisses them.
Molly, a bubbly vampire, requests for Bill and Eric to remove their shirts and places a device on them called the iStake. It is firmly strapped around their torsos and centered over their hearts. Molly tells them that the indestructible devices will pierce their heart faster than a bullet with the click of an application on her iPhone. She warns that attempting to remove the iStake will also trigger it.
Salome has Bill brought down to the Authority's basement. As they walk, Salome asks Bill if he knows who she is. Bill reveals what little details he knows, but Salome warns him not to believe everything in the Bible. Salome revealed that the Bible made her a convenient villain and a symbol for the dangers of female sexuality, but in actuality she was merely a girl with a troubled family. Bill then asked if she actually did ask for a man's head on a silver platter, and she said it was only politics. She further revealed that John denounced her mother's re-marriage to her uncle, the King. Wanting him silenced, she took advantage of her new husband's fondness for teenage virgins and traded Salome's body for revenge. Bill then asked about the dance of the Seven Veils, and Salome said she was wrapped sheer scarves when she was delivered to her uncle's bed where the supposed 'dance' began. Salome then reveals that she has been following Bill's upsurge for centuries and admires that he continues following his heart, something that vampires rarely do. Salome reveals that she wants to help him. When Bill asks why, Salome admits that something about Bill moves her, and that after two thousand years, she has learned to trust that feeling. When she asks Bill if she can trust him, Bill says how he can prove it when she already has his life in her hands. She said perhaps by letting him take her life with his. Bill then pins her against the wall and has sex with her.
Bill and Eric are seen in an elevator. Eric attempts to gloat about sleeping with Salome to Bill; Bill smiles, hinting of his sexual encounter with Salome before Eric. Bill tells Eric that gentlemen shouldn't brag about sloppy seconds, and Eric wonders what she wants. When the elevator doors open, a group of guards are seen waiting for them.
In her coffin, Pam dreams of an encounter with Eric, Lorena Krasiki and a young Bill at her brothel just before she was turned. In one of the rooms, Lorena and Bill are shown feeding on one of Pam's girls. Eric walks in and stops them both. Bill attempts to stake Eric and Eric easily stops him. Amused, Eric introduces himself. Bill once again attempts to attack Eric, but Lorena stops him. Lorena pleads with Eric that Bill is still new and does not understand his vampire lifestyle yet. Eric notes Bill's bravery and loyalty to Lorena, as well as his surprising strength for a newborn. Eric also mentioned that killing a newborn that shows such promise would be a shame simply because his Maker did not teach him to respect elder vampires. Eric demands that Lorena apologize to Pam. Pam extorts five hundred dollars for each girl they drained. Bill rushes out and Eric warns Lorena to control him. Lorena follows Bill and Pam pays her debt by sleeping with Eric. Pam is shown back in her coffin in the present day, still sleeping as bloody tears begin to fall. ("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
Bill and Eric climb out of the back of a jeep on a deserted back road. The guards that dropped them off throw them a set of car keys and drive off. Bill and Eric discuss who could have freed Russell Edgington. Eric says only four people knew where he was, him and Bill included. Bill hits the key's alarm to locate the car and tells Eric that he'll drive.
They go to Fangtasia and close the bar early to wait for Pam to return. When she arrives Pam shakes with relief seeing her Maker back. She says that no apologies are necessary between them and asks if they can let bygones be bygones. Pam notices that Bill is also present and explains that Tara is her progeny. She tells Eric that he is a grandfather. Disinterested, Eric asks Bill a moment alone with Pam. Bill takes Tara with him to the offices. Bill tries to reassure Tara about her new life and asserts that her impulses to kill herself will pass. Giving her a bottle of TruBlood, Bill asks if Sookie knows and if she's safe. Tara says that she does know, but that he needs to stop worrying about her above everything else and that he needs to move on. He asks again if she's safe. Tara says she is, as always, and that there's always someone there to take a bullet for her - like Tara did.
Eric walks into his office, and Tara calmly leaves. He tells Bill that Pam is innocent. Bill asks if Eric told anyone else about Russell, including his sister, offending Eric. Bill tells him that Russell is a great martyr for the Sanguinistas and if Nora is behind this, then Russell would be very useful to her cause. Eric says if she was planning something he would've known about it, and even then he wouldn't give her Russell. Eric then asks Bill if he told anyone, including Jessica. Bill says that if he did, he would have gone to her first. He then suggests they go to ground and keep searching the following night.
Bill and Jessica search his office for listening devices. Jessica asks if Bill is still the King of Louisiana. Bill responds that he is until he either meets the true death or the Authority change their minds. Bill finds a marijuana roach on the coach and holds it up Jessica. She nervously states that she had a few friends over, but no one was eaten or drained. Bill smiles and says that it is her home too and that she can take care of herself. He then sniffs the roach and says that it was low quality. Jessica smiles as Bill continues his search. She asks him if he is going to go see Sookie, explaining that she has had a rough time because of Debbie and Tara. Bill says that Jessica has already taken care of Sookie's problem by glamouring Andy, but to not make a habit of doing that for her. Jessica says that Sookie is falling apart and asserts that Bill and Sookie is different than Sookie and anyone else. Bill hugs Jessica and says that she should take care of herself first. Looking at her, he tells Jessica that he has done well as a Maker. Jessica smiles as Bill walks away.
Bill is watching Sookie making out with Alcide from outside her window. Eric arrives and says that they should be looking for Russell. Bill says that they are and believes Sookie can be useful in their search. Eric says Sookie might not want to help, but Bill says they won't give her the choice.
Eric and Bill argue in the back of the same truck. Bill wonders if Nora orchestrated in saving them both to deliver them to Russell. Eric asks Bill why he thinks she would to that. Bill says Russell can be a powerful ally to her cause, though he would never do it for free and if Nora were to serve them both to Russell then she can negotiate with him. Eric continues to ensure that Nora's not behind this and tried to help them, but Bill refuses to believe that. Eric says he's being paranoid, and Bill then retorts in questioning why Nora's still alive. Eric says he doesn't know. Bill says Nora is a traitor and a liar just like her brother—Eric. In anger, Eric exposes his fangs and demands that Bill take back his words. Bill, also showing his fangs, suddenly gets a call on his phone. Molly tells them that their iStakes have been activated to go off by dawn. As they approach an abandoned asylum, Bill attempts to have him and Eric split to try and find Russell and tells Sookie she can wait outside with Doug and Alcide . Sookie deems that a poor idea and says it's best they stick together, considering her powers are the only thing that seem to have a success rate against Russell.
The search for Russell in the asylum continues. Alcide announces that they're being watched and a terrified Doug runs. He enters a room where living humans are hanging on chains, though most were out cold. One of the humans screams as Doug walks in and begs that it's not his turn yet because he's too skinny. Bill asks where they were taking the humans and the man said down the hall is where he could hear the screams. Eric and Bill head that direction with Sookie and Alcide behind them.
In the asylum, Eric and Bill approach Russell's room. Russell, now fully healed, wonders what took Eric and Bill so long.("Let's Boot and Rally")
Wolves attack Eric and Bill, leaving Sookie exposed.
It will be as though they never met, Bill tells Sookie. But Bill is only pretending to glamour her, because as a fairy Sookie is not susceptible to it. Bill tells Sookie to live her life as she was meant to live it, in the sun with others like her. As a human.
Councilman Kibwe puts Bill and Eric into the back of a truck and tells them that the Authority will be pleased that they captured Russell. They ask if this means they'll be pardoned, and the councilmember tells them it's in Lilith's hands. As Bill and Eric are taken away, the councilmember moves to another truck, filled with Russell's victims...and Doug, who led Bill, Eric, Alcide and Sookie to Russell. They just want to get home. The Councilman smiles and asks them to fasten their seatbelts. After they comply, he bares his fangs and, with lightning speed, zips through the vehicle and slaughters everyone.
Bill and Eric return to the council, where their harnesses are removed and Roman toasts them with rare, 18th century Austrian hemophiliac blood. Salome tells Eric that Nora confessed to being a Sanguinista while they were gone, much to Eric's surprise. Roman tells Eric and Bill that by delivering Russell to the Authority, it means that they're with him. Bill plays along, but Eric will only say he's a "pacifist."
Bill is there to witness Russell's botched "execution". ("Hopeless")After Bill, Eric, and the Chancellors witness Russell Edgington staking Roman to death, they prepare to attack, but are subdued by the Authority Police. Bill and Eric are put in a cell right next to Molly, who hasn't the faintest idea as to why the iStake that Russell wore would have malfunctioned and denies any part in the Sanguinista movement. Knowing Bill and Eric can eventually be swayed, Salome and Nora escort them to the meeting hall. It is revealed that they were both used to deliver Russell to them so Roman could be destroyed and the Sanguinistas could take over the Authority. While initially hostile, Bill and Eric agree to attend the initiation ceremony Salome and Nora have planned at the next sunset. Though uncertain as to whether he should partake in drinking Lilith's blood, he gives in and joins the others on a late-night human massacre in the French Quarter district of New Orleans. When Lilith manifests herself from a single drop of human blood, she sprays a mist of her blood in the air. The mist enhances the blood-lust in each of the vampires, with Bill feeding uncontrollably. ("In the Beginning")
The vampires crazy night comes to an end. They return to the headquarters the majority of them still high and reveling in drinking Lilith's blood. Eric, who has sobered up, turns to Bill and asks him what the hell just happened. Bill mentions seeing Lilith. Eric isn't so sure, attributing what they saw to being high.
The vampires evaluate their evening. Russell says he feels "born again" and the rest of the group believes this is the beginning of a new way of life. Eric isn't completely on board saying that “I think I've had enough fun for one night” he asks Bill if he is coming. Bill shakes his head. Subtly disappointed, Eric leaves the room.
Salome wants Bill to feed from a woman with her. Bill who is initially uncomfortable says he's not hungry, but that doesn't work. She asks why he never made his family like him and Bill flashes back to his daughter begging him to save her on her deathbed. Bill says no, telling her that "immortality is a curse". At first, Bill is horrified about hurting her as she admits she has children of her own, but then eventually he caves in and starts to feed on the woman.("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Eric tells Bill that his Pro-Lilith act isn't going to work much longer. Bill seems to truly believe that there is a possibility that God is a vampire named Lilith. Eric reminds him that he is a mainstreamer at heart and tells him that they need to get off the compound. Eric says that they have to get some of Salome's blood in order to bypass the security doors. Eric wants them to leave the following day.
Bill and Salome are in bed together. She says that Lilith has chosen them to birth a new world. Bill is still unsure and asks what if he doesn't want to. Salome reassures Bill that what they are doing is for the best. They begin having sex and Bill sees her as Sookie and bites her. Then he sees her as Lilith. He holds her blood in his mouth as the visions end.
Eric drugs Nora with help from Molly. They attempt to get out of the Authority Headquarters. Bill joins them and uses Salome's blood to call the elevator, apparently following the plan. The door opens and Salome and a group of guards disembark. Eric and Molly are quickly surrounded. Eric angrily calls Bill a traitor. Bill counters that he is doing this for Eric. "You have been chosen by Lilith," Bill says. ("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
The Authority has Molly brought before them; she is handcuffed and an i-Stake is attached to her chest. Salome gives Molly one last chance to join the Sanguinistas or face the True Death. Molly says that even if she accept their beliefs, they would kill her anyway. Bill admits that she is right; because she hacked their security systems the Chancellors agreed for the true death as punishment.
Molly flips off her judges and says that they are destroying the world because of a thousand year old bible. She says that their behavior is the opposite of evolved. Rosalyn says that Molly has been a good employee and they don't care when she dies. Bill executes Molly with her own creation, leaving a bloody mess. Steve overreacts as it is the first time that he has seen a vampire staked. The Chancellors bless Molly's remains. Russell asks if anyone is hungry and goes to leave with Steve. Salome objects because Steve has an important TV appearance the next day. Russell argues that the Book Of Lilith instructs them to hunt and feast, not sit around reading index cards. Rosalyn agrees that Russell and Steve should be allowed to have their fun.
Bill fills a dropper with the blood of Lilith in the inner sanctum of authority's headquarters. He has Eric brought before him and warns him that he and Nora are the only thing keeping him from the true death. Eric defiantly welcomes death and asks why Bill cares. Bill says that he owes Eric for saving his life. Bill produces the dropper but Eric refuses to imbibe. Nora holds his jaw open as Bill gives him a drop of Lilith's blood. Nora says that they will meet her together and opens her mouth for her own dose. Bill obliges before leaving the room. He watches them from a security station. They experience a vision of Godric. He warns them against following Lilith reminding them that he evolved beyond savagery. Lilith appears and Eric shouts for Godric to fight as Nora begs Lilith to take mercy on him. She tears Godric's throat open as he tells his progeny that it is not him who must fight Lilith. Bill sees nothing on his monitor.
Newlin and Congressman Finch argue over the purpose of the attack on the Tru Blood factories for their televised debate. Finch correctly suggests that an anti-mainstreaming vampire faction is responsible. Newlin claims that he is surviving on a personal stock of Tru Blood. The other chancellors watch the broadcast from their council chamber, Russell holding Emma and commentating on Steve's performance. Bill enters with Eric and says that he has managed to convert him to the Sanguinista cause. Eric tells the others about his vision and claims that he is now a believer in Lilith. He apologizes and kneels before Russell, forgiving him for his misdeeds and welcoming a new era of co-operation. Russell reluctantly offers his hand for a kiss.
Jessica angrily demands an explanation after being brought to the Authority Headquarters on Bill's orders. He says that he is trying to protect her. She asks if his concern is related to the Tru Blood bombings and if he is with the American Vampire League. He smiles enigmatically.
He gives her a tour of the facility, including the inner sanctum. Jessica is perturbed by his religious fervor, comparing him to her fundamentalist Christian parents. He asks her to read the vampire bible with an open mind and tells her that he believes that he is fated to lead their kind into the coming age.
The authority meet to discuss spreading their message. Russell brings up the possibility of day walking using the blood of faeries. He believes they should attempt to synthesize faerie blood just as they have done with human blood. Salome calls the suggestion blasphemy. Russell attacks her and announces his superiority over all of them, his native accent returning as he loses control of his emotions. He declares that they will not constrain him and speeds out of the room. ("Gone, Gone, Gone")
Bill walks through the Authority's underground headquarters, drawn onward by Lilith calling his name. He finally sees her standing in front of the shrine containing her blood. She tells him that there can only be one leader and that she chooses him. She instructs him to drink the entire vial of her blood. Instead he leaves, seemingly unconvinced by her words.
Jessica finds Bill and tells him that she needs to warn Jason that Russell and Steve are after him. Bill rejects her request and explains that he has found Lilith, and that is against Lilith's word for a vampire and a human to be together. Quickly thinking, Jessica tells Bill that she will turn Jason into a vampire so that they can be together, as Lilith would approve. Bill warns her that he is not as naive as she thinks. He sends two of his guards with her to find Jason and ensure that she turns him. Jessica tries unsuccessfully to change his mind.
General Cavanaugh of the U.S. Army pays a visit to the Authority. He demands that they tell him where Roman is and why hasn't be answering calls. He informs them that he knows they bombed the Tru Blood factories and that he has video footage of Russell and Steve eviscerating 22 fraternity members. He tells them that if they don't watch themselves, the video will be made public triggering a war between humans and vampires. As he goes to leave, Eric stops him and breaks his neck, killing him.
The Authority members crowd around Cavanaugh's dead body, cursing Eric. Eric and Nora calm them down by telling them that if they act quickly with a glamouring campaign, they can contain the situation. Nora explains that she knows the Chief of Staff and Salome orders them to go and report back quickly.
Bill hears Lilith calling his name and meets her again. She repeats her message that he is the "chosen one" and should drink her blood. This time, he seems to believes her.
Bill enters the inner sanctum, and finds Kibwe praying in front of Lilith's shrine. He explains to Bill that Lilith told him he was the chosen one. Bill kills him, seemingly convinced of his own supremacy.
Once out in the field, Jessica warns Jason about Bill and works with him to destroy her escorts. She takes refuge in Fangtasia and tells Pam that Eric is working with Bill. She is recaptured by Chancellor Rosalyn Harris when Pam is arrested for the murder of Rosalyn's progeny Elijah Stormer.
Jessica returns to the main chamber. Bill yet again tries to persuade her to follow the way of Lilith. She tells him that living in a nest with the Authority has made him go completely crazy. He slaps her across the room. ("Sunset")
Jessica is delivered to the cells.
Sam Merlotte is brought to Bill in the Authority Headquarters as food. He escapes by shifting into a fly. He goes back to Luna and Emma to plan their escape. Bill gathers the V-Feds and orders them to search for Sam, furious about the security breach. Bill admits to Salome that he killed Kibwe after she questions his whereabouts. He lies to Salome that Lilith appeared to him and pronounced her as the chosen one and claims that he will serve her.
Bill urges Salome to drink Lilith's blood, but she finds it poisoned. Bill reveals that he refilled it with blood infused with silver, keeping the original blood for himself. Before he stakes her, Salome tells him that "Lilith chose wisely". Bill prepares to drink Lilith's blood but is interrupted by Eric and Sookie. Sookie urges Bill to come back to his old self.
("Save Yourself")Eric Northman
Bill calls Jessica and lets her know he will be out of town and that she is free to use his home. Eric is seen in the background cleaning up Nan's bloody mess with vampire speed. Bill and Eric both sense Sookie is in danger but Eric says "Fuck Sookie", and reminds Bill that she has rejected them both. He knows that cleaning up Nan's mess is more important.
Eric and Bill are trapped inside the trunk of a car driven by Hayes and has Noraas a passenger.
Eric and Bill are trapped inside the trunk of a car still. They work together to get an umbrella and puncture a hole in the gas tank with its metal tip. The car explodes after they create a spark of fire. Before Hayes can kill Eric or Bill, Nora stakes Hayes first. Eric approaches her instantly and kisses her passionately. He tells Bill, this is his sister.
Eric, Bill and Nora are walking along the pier. Nora explains the Guardian had Nan followed, and Nora took the opportunity to save Eric before the Authority got to them. They are unaware that Nora is Eric's sister. When Bill asked why she did this, she said she would do anything for Eric. Eric said, he'd do anything for her. She was going to have a car waiting to ambush their car and kill Hayes, but Eric and Bill's stunt beat her to it. She said not to apologize, that it was "bad ass". They go to ground for the day inside a huge 18-wheeler bed. Nora calls Roman and lies to him. Bill tells Eric, he knew he had friends in high places, but is surprised to have a chancellor on his side. Not even Pam knows about the alliance with Nora. Nora explains to them that they cannot return to the lives they had. If they do, her life will end, as Roman thinks Eric and Bill are now dead.
In the bed of the 18 wheeler, Eric and Nora are having sex while Bill waits outside. Eric says "I miss you sister" in Swedish. Bill comments how New Orleans is only 60 miles away and that perhaps they should be more quiet. Eric's cell phone rings, and it is Alcide. He discovers that Russell is now free. Someone, who looks to be Nate, drags a human into a dark room. Blood splatters on the wall.
Nora, Eric and Bill are walking along a pier when they meet with "Cat". She has their new papers (new identities). Bill is Marcelus Clark and Eric is Ike Applebaum. Kat says new papers are hard to come by. She tells them it is time to say goodbyes. Eric kisses Nora. All the vampires are instantly killed, and a loud voice (presumably Romans) is heard from above. The Authority has killed the vampires and has trapped Eric, Bill and Nora. ("Turn! Turn!
She claims that Nora is dead and asks Eric about Nan Flanagan's murder . He feigns ignorance and she injects silver into his veins, causing agonising pain. Salome tells Eric that Bill has been freed for his cooperation and that he'll be reinstated as King. Eric doesn't buy it, and simply says "Long live the King", then gets more silver injected into him.
In her coffin, Pam dreams of an encounter with Eric, Lorena Krasikiand a young Bill at her brothel just before she was turned.
In another flashback, Pam is shown in bed with Eric after she slept with him. She asks Eric what it is like to be a vampire. Eric says it would take several human lifetimes to answer that question. Pam asks Eric to make her a vampire, saying that they would have all the time in the world. Eric says that she doesn't know what she is asking for. She disagrees, asserting that she wants a life worth living. Pam tells Eric that women like her die alone when they get old, riddled with diseases. She says that if he knew what kind of life waited for her, he would turn her. Eric challenges that if she knew the responsibilities of being a Maker, she wouldn't dare ask. Pam asks him to make and then leave her, sure that she could take care of herself. Eric explains tossing a newborn baby into a gutter is no different to abandoning a newborn vampire. He adds that becoming a Maker is a bond deeper than any human can understand. Eric prepares to leave and Pam puts on her robes and walks to her table. She intentionally cuts both her forearms and begins to bleed profusely. She begs Eric to make her a vampire or watch her die of blood loss. Hesitant at first, Eric reveals his fangs and gives her what she wanted.
Eric is brought to Salome's bedroom at her request. Salome reveals that she knows Nora is Eric's sister through Godric. She says that she found Godric to be a glorious vampire until he lost his way. Salome wonders why Eric left Nora to die; he answers that he had no choice. She tells Eric that we all have choices. Eric asks if this is how she makes friends. Salome says that friends she can trust are a rare commodity. She confides that she sponsored and mentored Nora; Eric wonders if she believes Nora's arrest reflects badly. Salome says Eric is cold at heart because he's been hurt. Eric asserts that it will heal. Salome says that she could quicken that process by being his friend, removing her robes and lying naked on her bed. Eric walks towards her.
When the elevator doors open, a group of guards are seen waiting for them.("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
Bill and Eric climb out of the back of a jeep on a deserted back road.
Eric interrogates Pam, calling her a liar and demanding to know where Russell is. Pam assures him that she would die a thousand times before she betraying him. Eric calls her a fool, saying he trusts no one and that she shouldn't either. Pam asks why he keeps her around if she means so little to him. Pam demands that Eric release her if he trusts Bill and Alcide over her.
Pam wakes up in her coffin. Eric comes downstairs to talk with her. They sit on the stairs and he tells her that searching for Russell is a suicide mission. He says that even if they find Russell, he and Bill will still be facing treason charges. She asks about Eric's friends within the Authority and Eric tells her he had a friend, but she can't help him anymore. Eric warns her that either Russell or the Authority will end him and says that he doesn't want her there. When she says that she wants to fight beside him, he still denies her and says that he has to release her. He says that it not because he doesn't trust her but because she is his only progeny and he needs her to live after he dies to secure his legacy. Pam begins to cry but says that she understands and accepts. Eric hesitates, but releases her from their blood bond. Pam begins to cry and hugs Eric. Eric says that she is still his child and that she was born into greatness. He reminds her that she is also a Maker now and that their blood will continue to thrive. Eric kisses Pam's forehead and holds her as tears fall from his eyes.
Bill is watching Sookie making out with Alcide from outside her window. Eric arrives and says that they should be looking for Russell. Bill says that they are and believes Sookie can be useful in their search. Eric says Sookie might not want to help, but Bill says they won't give her the choice. ("We’ll Meet Again")
Sookie and Alcide are making out on her couch. Alcide picks her up, takes her upstairs and both begin to undo their clothes. Once Sookie's shirt comes off, Alcide proclaims he's been waiting a long time to sleep with her.
Bill requests Sookie to try and read the mind of Doug, Alcide's employee who was glamoured after Russell was freed.
Back at the asylum, the group continues searching for Russell. Sookie continues reading Doug's mind to locate Russell's exact whereabouts. As they search, they find a rat feeding on a human hand. Nearby, they find more rats feeding on piles of drained corpses. Eric deems they are definitely in the right place.
In the asylum, Eric and Bill approach Russell's room. Russell, now fully healed, wonders what took Eric and Bill so long. Eric approaches and asks Russell if he remembers him and says they've come to finish what they started. Russell says that, like his old lover Talbot used to tell him when they went buck hunting: "Give it your best shot." ("Let's Boot and Rally")
Russell hurls curses at the Authority's team and Kibwe, and assures them they'll have to pay once he's fully restored. Eric approaches Alcide, bares his fangs and bites his finger to heal him with his blood. "We owe you, wolf," Eric says. Then he glamours Alcide. He tells Alcide that he'll remember nothing of the evening, but he'll always protect Sookie with his life. Alcide drowsily agrees. Then Eric adds that Alcide will keep his hands off of Sookie, romantically speaking and, in fact, from this moment on he'll find Sookie a bit disgusting.
Bill plays along, but Eric will only say he's a "pacifist." Roman laughs and tells Eric that he's too cool to admit he believes in anything but himself. Salome tries to excuse herself by saying that she wants to interrogate Russell, but Roman tells her not to bother, that they're just going to execute him—as soon as possible. Salome seems upset about this decision, but offers to give him an extra dose of intravenous silver and bring him forth. Eric asks to visit Nora in her cell, telling Roman that she's his sister, which is a surprise to the rest. But Eric assures Roman that he'll be present for the execution.
At Authority headquarters, Eric is standing outside of Nora's cell, but Nora is so busy praying that she doesn't notice him until a harnessed, screaming Russell is dragged by, and Salome leans towards the bars, telling her Russell is going to be executed that very night. Nora's eyes open and she suddenly looks ecstatic. "It's happening. It's finally happening," Nora says. "God's plan, made manifest by her. Thank you Lilith. Thank you, she who transcends death." Eric, suddenly dismayed, asks Nora if she released Russell. She says no, that it's a miracle, all part of "her plan." Eric rushes back to the execution.
Eric is there as Russell's i-stake fails to work and Russell kills Roman. ("Hopeless")
Russell having just killed Roman. Russell then tackles Eric and tells him "Me and you together at last." Eric bares his fangs and so does Russell. Then the lights begin to blink on and off brightly. During the commotion AVL guards swarm int other room and using night vision catch Russell and bring him down using a silver net. He is then placed back into security. When everything settles down Bill looks around for Eric and finds him hung up on the wall by his neck. Eric says drying "The view from up here is spectacular."
Bill and Eric realize they were being used to bring Russell to the Authority so he could kill Roman. They're trying to find out why Russell's restraints didn't work saying if silver was injected into him there was no way he could've killed Roman so fast. They also wonder why the i-stakes didn't work. Molly who is in charge of the i-stakes doesn't know why either and is in the process of trying to find out. They then are called to meet with Salome and Nora. While standing in Salome's room Nora tries to talk to Eric but feeling betrayed Eric tells her to shut the fuck up. Suddenly Russell makes an appearance and tells them he has been reborn. Nora tells Eric she tries to save him because she knew about Russell but again Eric ignores and shuts Nora up. Salome admits to digging up Russell because he was the only vampire powerful enough to get rid of Roman. She says they're interested in sharing their power with everyone and want them to join them. Neither Eric or Bill are interested. Salome tells them of a ceremony taking place the following night, and gives them to option to attend.
Russell tells those at the ceremony he disavows himself of his previous statements and says he loves Lilith. Nora talks about their feeling vampires have evolved from humans and says that that night at the ceremony everybody will drink from Lilith's blood. Then Chancellor Dieter walks up saying that this is blasphemy. He says he has been part of the Authority since Roman first opened it up and that he will not go along with any of this. But before the chancellor can finish Russell quickly decapitates him killing him. After that Russell apologizes to Lilith. Everyone then is silent. Bill asks Eric if they're really going along with it and Eric agrees saying they'll go with the flow.
After drinking Lilith's blood Eric is amongst the vampires who drunkenly walk around town casing ruckus. Eric is also at the club when all the vampires attack the humans. While Eric is feeding on a human Godric's spirit appears to Eric. Godric then tells Eric that Eric knows what he's doing is wrong, but his sister Nora does not. "Save her my son" Godric says. Eric then stops feeding and stares at Nora.
Eric tries to convince Nora that her mind is clouded and mentions seeing Godric. She says negative things about Godric and Eric is furious, he attempts to kill her but stops himself. Utterly heartbroken, Eric leaves. Nora says that she thinks Lilith will be able to show Eric the way.
At a meeting of the new vampire hierarchy they decide how to start flexing their muscles. It is suggested they simply start killing mainstreaming vampires, but Bill thinks a better move would be destroying the True Blood factories. Eric completely shocked asks Bill what he's doing: Bill coldly replies "Evolving." ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
While the Authority proceeds with Lilith's plan by returning to the old ways, Eric plans his escape from headquarters together with Bill and Nora in order to save her as Godric requested. He turns to Molly for assistance who quickly agrees to help.
Just before dawn Eric tricks Nora into following him to the escape route (after fooling Nora into believing he wants her to help him believe in Lilith's philosophy). Once the cameras are turned off he disables her with a syringe, then prepares to escape after using her finger to access the elevator, but the authority guards & Salome are waiting inside the elevator, Bill betrayed Eric and warned them of the escape route, the guards take Eric away, while Eric angrily stares at Bill. ("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
Bill fills a dropper with the blood of Lilith in the inner sanctum of authority's headquarters.
Eric paces back and forth in his room. Nora enters, they share a passionate moment. Eric tells her that he's going to get them out of there.
Eric and Nora are driven away from the Authority headquarters by two guards. Eric asks if he can change the radio station and then stakes both guards. Eric and Nora exit the car and smile, flying off into the sky. ("Sunset")
Eric locates Russell just as he is about to enter a fae hideout where Sookie is taking refuge. The faeries are using their photokinesis to keep Russell at bay. Eric takes advantage of the situation and manages to stake Russell bringing him the True Death, satisfying a long held lust for revenge. Steve Newlin looks on in horror as his boyfriend is staked and then runs off into the woods.
Sookie rushes to help Jason, who was knocked out in the battle, and Nora finds herself drawn to Sookie's blood. Eric stops Nora and makes her swear not to touch Sookie. Jason is groggy from a head injury, but alive
Nora and Eric disarms the building's security system and release the prisoners. Eric is amused to realize that Pam and Tara have developed feelings for one another.
He sends most of the group back up in the elevator, warning them to expect more guards, then takes Sookie to find Bill.
They find Bill about to drink Lilith's blood. Sookie urges Bill to come back to his old self.
("Save Yourself")Sam Merlotte
Sam is surrounded by werewolves. One morphs back into human form. She asks about the whereabouts of her packmaster Marcus Bozeman. She said he's been missing over 2 days. Sam shifts into an owl and escapes.
Sam shows up at Luna's house to warn her and Emma that a werewolf pack is looking for them and that they are in danger. Rikki arrives and threatens them. Sam says that he was the one who killed Marcus so that the pack will stay away from Luna and Emma.
Sam is tortured by the wolf pack and questioned about the whereabouts of Marcus' remains. Martha Bozeman arrives and introduces herself to Sam. Martha wants her son's body back so that they can get rid of him properly. Martha promises that if he leads them to Marcus' body, no harm will come to Luna or Emma. Sam agrees and says "Let's go".
Sam brings the pack to Marcus' body. The wolves dig him up and the remove him from his shallow grave. Before Rikki can throw Sam into the grave, Luna shows up with Alcide, who claims he was the one who killed Marcus. Two wolves bows to him, but the rest do not and force the two wolves to stand. They claim to never bow before him, but Alcide is "cool either way". The main older werewolf objecting is J.D.. The wolves shift and begin to eat Marcus' corpse.("Turn! Turn! Turn!")Luna takes Sam home and cleans up his injuries. While Luna goes to check on Emma Martha arrives at her home. Sam tells her that Luna doesn't want to see her. Luna arrives back into the room and sees her, telling her to leave. Martha asks what will happen when Emma "turns". Martha states that she "feels" Emma is a werewolf, not a shifter. After she leaves, Sam tells Luna to be a bit easier on Martha. He is trying to reason with Luna, that Emma may be a werewolf. Luna barks at him in anger, and Sam is confused with her behavior. Luna says that Emma is her daughter. They argue longer until Sam eventually says "fuck you psycho". ("Authority Always Wins")
Sam takes a crate of empty beer bottles out of Merlotte's and runs into Tara. She is crying blood, revealing to Sam her new vampire nature. Sam asks what happened to her; Tara simply states that she's hungry.
Tara lines up drained bottles of TruBlood on the bar of Merlotte's, demanding more from Sam. Sam attempts to call Lafayette and Sookie, but Tara refuses to allow him. Tara then passes out and Sam immediately realizes that the sun is rising and quickly tries to find a place to hide her.
Lafayette and Sookie arrive for work and Sookie asks Sam if he has seen Tara. He lies, but she reads his mind and discovers that he has put her in the walk in freezer. With Tara in the freezer, Sookie tells Lafayette that they have to spend the day at work ensuring that no one walks in there and learns about her. During the morning Sheriff Andy Bellefleur questions Sam's employees about the disappearance of Debbie Pelt. Unbeknownst to Sam or Andy, Sookie killed Debbie for shooting Tara, which was what necessitated her turning.
("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
Arlene tells Sam that his friends Suzanne and Emory are asking for him in the bar. The shapeshifters ask him why he hasn't been coming around. Sam says that he has been under a lot of stress lately. They beg him to shift and run with them again. Sam says that it is not a good idea because he and Luna aren't on speaking terms. Suzanne reveals that Luna said the same thing, so they chose Sam over her. Sam agrees to meet them later that night.
Sam visits Suzanne and Evory's home and finds them dead. They've both been shot in the head. ("We’ll Meet Again")
Jason is seen showing up at murder scene of Suzanne and Emory. As Jason examines the bodies, he suddenly sees his dead parents instead of them with vampire bites on their necks. Andy calls for Jason and asks Andy if he remembers how they got back home. Andy says he doesn't, and Jason tells him that the people in that club were fairies. Andy shakes off the thought of having slept with a fairy, and refuses to let what happened ruin what he has with Holly and tells Jason they'll never speak of it again. Andy then questions Sam about what happened. Sam tells him they were getting together for dinner and he found them dead on the porch. Andy asks if he knew anyone that wanted him dead and Sam says no. Andy asks Sam if there was anything else and Sam tells him they were all shifters and occasionally ran together. Andy doesn't seem shocked by this and tells him to stick around.
Sam shows up to Luna's house and tells her about Suzanne and Emory's murder. Sam tries to ask Luna if she knew anyone who would want to hurt them. She says no as they were wonderful people, and then begins crying. Sam says he knows they've been having trouble, but wants to be there for her. Luna then apologizes and asks Sam if he can leave. Sam agrees and says he'll come back and check on her tomorrow. As Sam exits the house, he is suddenly shot by a group of drunken men with rifles howling and wearing masks of President Barack Obama. Luna steps out to help Sam, but they shoot her twice in cold blood and leave her for dead. Then Emma runs out to Luna, but Sam tells Emma to run. As the men aim their rifles, Emma shifts into a wolf pup and runs off, avoiding the bullets.
("Let's Boot and Rally")
As Luna and Sam are wheeled into the hospital—both alive—Emma runs to a house as a wolf pup and yelps at the door. Martha Bozeman, her werewolf grandmother, opens it and takes her in.
At the hospital Sam goes to find Luna, right at the moment that Martha brings Emma to see Luna. Martha tells Luna he doesn't want to compete with her or take Emma away from Luna, but she just wants to be in her granddaughter's life. Luna tells Martha that someone is hunting shifters, and asks if she'll keep Emma safe. Martha agrees.
Sam finds Andy and demands that he help him find the group of men hunting shifters.
Andy returns to the weapons store to investigate the shifter hunters, and as he's questioning the guy behind the counter, Sam walks in and starts looking at equipment. The man behind the counter suddenly seems very interested in Sam. As the clerk is talking to Andy and watching Sam, he slowly reaches under the counter and pulls out a loaded gun. Before he can aim it and pull the trigger, Sam puts a crossbow bolt through his chest. A shocked Andy thanks Sam for saving his life, and Sam explains that he could sense the man shifting into survival mode. ("Hopeless")
While at the store Deputy Kevin is interrogating Andy as he gives his version of the shop keeper shooting. In the back Sam is sniffing around for clues with Kenya standing by. Sam spots a strange box in the back using his acute smell sense. Sam tells Kenya to open being she has gloves. When she opens it they find it full of the Obama masks the shooters have been using. Sam then begins to roll on the floor sniffing telling Kenya about the shooter's poor diets and etc. Kenya concerned then asks Sam if there's anything she should know about and Sam looks up at her saying "...no."
In the hospital Sam tells Luna about that has been going on. Luna says she needs to be out there helping but Sam tells Luna it's safer in the hospital. Sookie then drops by with gifts for Luna. Sam then tells her what's been happening and Sookie offers to but Sam coffee in the lobby. In the lobby Sam thanks Sook for the coffee and they sit and talk. Sookie then talks to Sam about being human. She asks Sam if had the choice to be human would he take it. But they say that despite them not being hated and feared anymore the hate woud stood be aorund them.
AS Luna is asleep Sam is still in the hospital and a nurse then walks in the room telling Sam he has to leave, that visiting hours ended two hours ago. Sam says alright and just before Sam leaves the hospital he catches one of the shooters posing as an orderly. Sam then runs after the guy and tackles him in an empty room and then tells the man "this if for my friends and punches the man in the face." ("In the Beginning")
Joe Bob, the member of the anti-supernatural group that Andy has in custody, isn't talking. Sam asks if he can try interrogating him. Sam turns himself into a cobra and learns that they have Jessica. Luna arrives at the station, having shifted into Sam's form. She tells Sam she doesn't know what happened and can't shift back.
Sam, Andy and Luna arrive at the compound and find Jessica. Sam and Luna smell a human woman. Jessica is surprised Hoyt's not the reason they are there.
Sam sits with a terrified Luna on his lap. He's able to turn her back to Luna by giving her a kiss on the forehead. ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Sam comforts Luna at her place. Sam is worried about her, saying that his brother died because of skin walking (actually he died because he was beaten up badly). Luna says that she doesn't think it will happen again. Sam wants to take Luna back to the hospital, but she refuses and they almost end up in an argument. Sam accepts that he can't stop Luna from coming with him.
Andy talks to the press about the Obamas but withholds key details of the ongoing investigation. Sam and Luna return to the station and tell Andy they picked up the scent of pigs when they went back to the basement where Jessica was held. They are dissatisfied with Andy's seeming unwillingness to help them and decide to go out on their own. They both shift into flies.
Andy and Jason look for connections between Junior and Joe Bob. Andy says that both were arrested by Bud, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Andy then notices one of the dancing Obamas in the video is wearing the cowboy boots Bud was given at his retirement party. They believe Bud is the Dragon. Luna and Sam go unnoticed listening to their conversation in fly form. They go to Bud's farm and find that he is working with the anti-supernatural group; he has imprisoned Sookie and Hoyt in his barn.
("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
Jessica arrives at Merlotte's and the bar quickly empties. The only two remaining customers, Cole and Bobbie, reach for concealed weapons. Sam and Lafayette get the drop on them and disarm them. They find that their weapons are loaded with wooden bullets, confirming their intention to kill a vampire, but let them go. Sam invites Jessica to sit wherever she likes.
Sam tries to reach Steve Newlin, posing as a reporter for a dog magazine in an attempt to confirm that he has a new pet. Luna joins him, distraught that the authorities have dismissed her report of Newlin taking her daughter, Emma. Sam tries to comfort her and then shows her that Newlin is appearing at a live debate in New Orleans that night. Sam offers to fly them there using credit card miles.
Luna and Sam use their shifter abilities to infiltrate Steve's dressing room and are disappointed to learn that he has not brought Emma. They hide in his bag, ensuring that he takes them with him to his next destination.
Steve returns to the Vampire Authority and is met by Chelsea, the receptionist. She shows him that Emma has returned to her human form. He angrily admonishes her, telling her that he doesn't like it when she is human. Sam and Luna scurry out of his bag in mouse form. ("Gone, Gone, Gone")
Shifted from mice, Sam and Luna arrive in the main chamber of the Authority headquarters, wondering where they are.
Sam and Luna find Emma caged in her shifter form. They are discovered outside the cell but the guards assume they are escape human prisoners being used for vampire food. They are locked with the humans in the cell adjacent to Emma. Sam tells Luna to shift, but she says she has to stay with Emma. Sam offers himself to be fed on when the guards come to fetch a meal for Chancellor Compton. ("Sunset")
Sam is brought to Bill in the Authority Headquarters as food. He escapes by shifting into a fly. He goes back to Luna and Emma to plan their escape.
Sam finds Steve's room and convinces Luna to skinwalk as Steve so that they can take Emma back. Luna takes Steve's form but Rosalyn collars her and takes her to make a live television announcement regarding the footage of Steve and Russel kiliing 22 fraternity brothers. Half way through the interview Luna shifts back into her real form on camera; revealing the existence of shifters to the world. Rosalyn prepares to attack but Sam, already shifted into fly form, swoops into Rosalyn's mouth and destroys her by shifting back into his human form inside of her. ("Save Yourself")Alcide Herveaux
Hearing a knock on the door, Sookie answers to find Alcide standing there. He comes in and warns her that Russell Edgington is now on the loose. He tells her she should join him for safety. She is about to tell him about Debbie Pelt, but Lafayette—now completely bald-headed, having apparently used the razor to shave it—comes downstairs and tells Alcide to leave. Lafayette tells Alcide that they are done with his kind, or any supernatural kind. Alcide growls at him, but Lafayette doesn't back down saying "don't growl at me". Sookie tells him he should go and that she can't leave. Alcide says she knows where to find him, if she changes her mind. Alcide calls Eric Northman to give him the news.
Marcus Bozeman's pack harass Sam Merlotte into showing them where his body is buried. They threaten Luna Garza and Sam co-operates with them. The wolves shift and begin to eat Marcus' corpse. ("Turn! Turn! Turn!")The wolfpack wants Alcide to eat Marcus and now become the packmaster. Alcide doesn't want any part of it however. J.D. and Alcide have more words, before Alcide leaves. Martha Bozeman says it is his obligation to eat, however he has no interest. He states he doesn't care about the laws and to find someone else. ("Authority Always Wins")
Debbie's parents find Alcide at work to ask him about Debbie's whereabouts, and if he was involved in her disappearance. Alcide says that he doesn't know where she went since he abjured her. He explains that Debbie was back on V and cheated on him with his packmaster. Alcide says that Debbie is probably with some vampire. Her parents reveal that her car was found abandoned with her purse and all of her money inside. They say that they're at the Sunshine Inn if he learns anything of her whereabouts.
Alcide sayes nothing and walks away. ("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
At Merlotte's parking lot, Sookie tries to apologize to Alcide as he drives off. Alcide goes to the Inn where Debbie's parents are staying. He tells them that he wasn't honest about Debbie's whereabouts. Alcide reveals that Debbie is dead, but lies that it was Marcus who killed her. He claims that he got revenge by snapping Marcus' neck, covering for Sookie. Gordon moves to attack Alcide, showing his wolf eyes, but Barbara stops him. Alcide doesn't fight back and says if they want to turn him into the police, then he won't argue. The Pelt's instead begin to cry and mourn for Debbie, telling Alcide to get out.
At Sookie's house Sookie then hears a knock on her door and notices it to be Alcide, telling him to come in. Alcide then tells Sookie what he told Debbie's parents, covering her. Sookie is grateful and apologizes, then offers Alcide a drink. He accepts.
Alcide and Sookie are seen drinking. She gives Alcide a drink Tara used to make for them. When he takes a sip, he says it was horrible and laughs. Sookie then tries to make him to drink him again.
Russell, now fully healed, wonders what took Eric and Bill so long. Eric approaches and asks Russell if he remembers him and says they've come to finish what they started. Russell says that, like his old lover Talbot used to tell him when they went buck hunting: "Give it your best shot."
Alcide is suddenly attacked and dragged away. ("Let's Boot and Rally")
Alcide is being dragged away by a wolf before he can transform and take it on.
After the battle as Russell is being led away the council member asks Bill and Eric why Sookie and Alcide are there, and they make up a story about finding them, and Doug, along the way. "They know too much," Kibwe says, but Bill assures them that they'll be glamoured. The councilman agrees, leaving one of the team behind to witness it. Bill goes to Sookie and tells her to look him in the eyes.
Alcide is driving Sookie home, but doesn't remember how they got where they are, and doesn't know why Sookie's crying.
Alcide returns to the Shreveport pack at a barn, where Martha's husband is messing around with one of the younger females. Alcide walks in and asks JD if Martha knows about this. JD then tells Alcide that him and Martha have an understanding about who they mess around with. JD then tells Alcide that he isn't welcomed saying that Alcide said he chose to be part of the pack. But Alcide then tells JD that he never said he left the pack and that he knows JD has been juicing on V. Alcide then says he's stepping up and takes on the role of packmaster saying he won't allow JD to take down the pack. Then Alcide finds out JD has been made packmaster. Alcide asks how and JD says because no one else has challenged him. Alcide then says he will but JD laughs and says he can't do that, that he must have a second (a female) to back him up. After no one says anything, Rikki then stands up and says she will be Alcide's second. Because Rikki is sick of JD too. Alcide then tells JD "Just tell me a time and place" and he then walks out.
("Hopeless")
Alcide and Rikki are training in the Barn. During their training Alcide tells Rikki he is prepared to lose his fight with JD. Rikki suggests vampire blood, but Alcide doesn't like the idea. The two of them begin fooling around and kissing when Martha walks in and tells Alcide that JD denied taking V. She tells Alcide that it is "JD's turn" to be alpha for J.D had enough respect to allow Marcus to be alpha after Marcus' father died.
("In the Beginning")
Alcide and Rikki have sex; their relationship seems to be moving to boyfriend/girlfriend, instead of just Alpha/Second.
It's time for the showdown between J.D. and Alcide. J.D.'s plan is for them to hunt a local male track star. Alcide hates the idea and is willing to forfeit if it means saving the kid's life. J.D. accepts the victory, but still wants to go on the hunt. J.D. and Alcide begin to fight and Alcide chases him when he leaves to hunt the kid.
J.D. and Alcide fight in the woods. J.D. gets the upper hand and is about to kill Alcide when the rest of the pack arrive on the scene. Martha convinces him not to kill Alcide, but J.D. tells Alcide to find another pack. ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Alcide drives back to Jackson, Mississippi and recalls being taught about the importance of the pack by his father when he was a teenager. Alcide, Debby, and other young wolves are given the option of choosing their human or wolf side as they go forwards in life. They both choose "pack".
Alcide arrives at his father's trailer. He tells him that he lost the pack master challenge and is now a lone wolf. Jackson says that Alcide is like his old man, Alcide answers that he is nothing like him. ("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
Alcide and Jackson receive an unexpected visit from Robert Rollins, a member of Jackson's old pack. He comes to Jackson's trailer to caution them that baby vamp packs are on the loose. Jackson tells him to get off his land and Robert retaliates by saying that he shouldn't have done what he did and could still be in the pack. Alcide confronts Jackson after Robert leaves and explains that he knows he stole money from the pack leading to his being forced out of the pack.
Alcide and Jackson defend their neighbors from a trio of young vampires, destroying two of them and driving away the third. ("Sunset")
Alcide is talking with his father when Martha brings Rikki to the trailer. She has been forced to drink an overdose of V. Jackson gives her a colloidal silver remedy to force the blood out. Alcide wants to fight JD again to oust him as pack master. His father suggests that they even the playing field by drinking his stash of high quality V.
The Shreveport werewolf pack torture a captured vampire and drain his blood. Alcide, Jackson and Martha confront them. JD tells Alcide that he is abjured but Alcide attacks and beats him to death while the pack looks on. With JD dead, Alcide pronounces himself pack master and lays down the law to his pack. ("Save Yourself")Pam Swynford De Beaufort
Pam arrives at Sookie's house looking for Eric. Upon seeing a dead Debbie Pelt and Tara, she smirks and is about to turn to leave before Lafayette stops her. He asks her to turn Tara into a vampire. Pam says she doesn't even like Tara, so why would she turn her. Sookie says she will "owe her one" however. All Pam is concerned about is having her relationship mended with Eric, and Sookie agrees. Pam bites her wrist and let's her blood drip into Tara's mouth.
Later, she holds Tara while in the ground. Lafayette and Sookie cover them with dirt. The following night Pam emerges first, then Tara. ("Turn! Turn! Turn!")
Laughing at the situation with Tara, she finally helps Lafayette and Sookie by pulling Tara off of Sookie's neck. She then orders her, as her maker, not to bite either of them. She put's Tara into the house before returning to Fangtasia. She cannot find Eric. She begins to recall their first meeting. Pam is seen running a brothel as a Madam in 1905 San Francisco. When one of her girls does not return, she enters the room to find her slain in bed.
Later, while walking during the night alone, she is attacked. The man puts a knife to her throat, and as he does, Eric swoops in and takes him out- slashing his throat. He is obviously smitten with Pam, telling her how lovely her dress is. He apologizes for the mess and gives her money to cover the cost of it. She says "Thank you Mister", before he vanishes in vampire speed.("Authority Always Wins")
Sookie approaches Pam at Fangtasia, begging her to summon Tara. However, Pam is more worried about Eric who has been missing for days, violently rejects Sookie's request (saying that she doesn't care about Sookie or Tara), and throws her across the room. Sookie uses her fairy powers to throw Pam across the room, retaliating.
She is later seen sleeping and dreaming about her early life when she first met Eric. In her flashback, Pam shows Eric many of the whores to choose from at the brothel, but he responds by telling her he came for her. A little later, a newly turned Bill is seen devouring a woman who has been glamored by Lorena. Eric busts in and throws Lorena against the wall, smashing a mirror. Pam observes from the doorway. Bill tries to attack Eric but fails since his newly acquired vampire strength is not as powerful as Eric's. Eric is fascinated that Lorena has "procreated" and is surprised by how protective Bill is of her. This is the scene where Bill and Eric first meet: Bill asks Eric who he is, and Eric responds with "Eric Northman, but to you... the True Death." Lorena intervenes, begging Eric to spare Bill as he is new and doesn't understand. Eric complies and reprimands Lorena for not teaching Bill how to "respect his elders"; Lorena thanks him and Eric tells her to thank Pam instead. Pam tells them they owe $500 for every girl they've drained, Lorena apologizes yet again, and she and Bill both leave. Pam tells Eric they "have a debt to settle" and Eric passionately kisses her. Back in the real world, Pam is seen crying blood during her sleep.
Later, while making more than friendly conversation with a customer at Fangtasia, she recognizes Hoyt and speaks with him. She tells him he's trying too hard, and that the people at Fangtasia are going to "eat him alive." He tells her that's what he wants, and she has another flashback to her past. In the flashback, her and Eric are cuddling in bed, implying they've just had sex. She inquires him about life as a vampire and tells him that she will have an unhappy life once she gets older. She asks him to turn her into a vampire, and he rejects, telling her that it is a huge responsibility. She persists and he continues to reject the idea. In a desperate act of attention, she cuts her wrists, telling Eric he can either turn her or he can watch her die. After some serious internal debate, he decides to turn her.
In the final scene of the episode, Tara breaks in to a tanning salon, and attempts to burn and kill herself, because she'd rather be dead than to be a "monster." Pam senses that she is in danger and says out loud, "You stupid bitch," as it cuts to black. ("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")Pam shows up at the salon just in time to save Tara from killing herself. Tara tells Pam that she cannot live as a vampire and attempts to kill herself again when Pam warned her not to do it again. As Tara's maker, Pam commands Tara not to ever do it again. An angry Tara turns off the tanning bed soon after. Pam heads back to Fangtasia with Tara. She screams at Ginger for closing earlier than the usual time. When she asks in asking where everyone was, Eric was sitting on his chair, telling Pam it was him who closed early. Pam shook with relief seeing her Maker back and says no apologies necessary between the two from their previous problems and let bygones be bygones. After noticing Bill was present, Pam told Eric of her new progeny, Tara, and told him he was a grandfather. Disinterested, Eric asks Bill a moment alone with Pam. Eric interrogates Pam, calls her a liar and demands to know where Russell is. Pam assures him that she would never betray or hurt Eric and would die a thousand times before she would do such a thing. Eric calls her a fool, saying he trusts no one and that she shouldn't either. Pam says that if she means so little to him, then why keep her around. Pam demands Eric to release her if he is more trusting of Bill and Alcide rather than her. Pam wakes up from her coffin. Eric comes downstairs and has a talk with her. As they sit on the stairs, he tells her that searching for Russell is a suicide mission and even if they find Russell, he and Bill will still be facing treason. When she asks about Eric's friends within the Authority, Eric tells her he had a friend, but she can't help him anymore. Eric then tells her that either Russell or the Authority will end him and doesn't want her there. When she says he wants to, he still denies her and says that he has to release her, but not because her doesn't trust her but because she was his only progeny and needs her to live once he dies. Pam begins to cry saying she understands and accepts. Eric then hesitates, but eventually releases her from their blood bond. Pam begins to cry and hugs Eric. Eric says that she is still his child and that she was born into greatness. He reminds her that she is also a Maker now and that their blood will continue to thrive. Eric kisses Pam's forehead and holds her as the tears begin to fall from his eyes. Pam then wakes Tara up. Pam has a human girl named Melony with her and tells Tara to feed on her. Tara refuses, but Melony says it's okay and doesn't mind being fed on. She continues to refuses, but Pam commands Tara to feed on her. As Tara begins to feed, Pam shows Tara how to properly feed without killing her. Pam also soothes Tara and says that she is now on top of the food chain and no human can hurt her anymore. Tara continues to feed. ("We’ll Meet Again")
At Fangtasia, Tara's seen admiring the atmosphere, wearing some of Pam's clothes. Pam takes note of this. Pam makes Tara the bartender as Fangtasia now belongs to Pam and they're understaffed. A heavy set vampire then asks Tara for a TruBlood while a human girl tries to flirt with Tara after she exposes her fangs. Tara suddenly snatches and feeds on her, to which Pam immediately stops Tara, pinning her against the wall. Pam demands Tara to never feed on humans in public ever again as it brings the risk of being reported to the Authority. Pam reminds Tara she saved her life by making her a vampire but if she were to ever do anything to mess with Fangtasia, she'll silver Tara and stick her in a coffin to rot for the next millennium. Meanwhile, Jessica is watching the entire thing happening as Pam loosens her grip on Tara and walks away. ("Let's Boot and Rally")
Tara and Jessica are in a knock-down fist fight, which Pam watches for a bit with an amused smile before calling it off. Tara barks at Jessica for attacking her in "my house," which Pam doesn't like one bit. She drags Tara into the back and reminds her progeny that Fangtasia is her house, that Tara just works there. But then she smiles. "You did good out there, the fighting. Made me proud," Pam says, adding, "proud the way a human is proud of a well-trained dog. Nothing more." ("Hopeless")
Lettie Mae goes to see Tara at Fangtasia. Tara is no longer working as a bartender but as a pole dancer and she is very good at it. Pam watches her from the stage smiling. But when Lettie Mae comes in he tells Tara she's a minister's wife she can't have a daughter being vampire and she's there to say good-bye. Tara shows her fangs and Lettie tells Tara she's not afraid for she's god on her back. Pam watches interested from the side and Tara tells Lettie that she'll see her again and lets her leave.
Pam tries to console Tara who is crying in the office feeling down about her mother. Tara says she hates her mother but yet she's crying for her. Pam then comforts Tara and tells her that Lettie Mae is not Tara's mother. Tara then looks up at her vampire mother Pam and quickly hugs her. Pam hugs her back then after a few seconds Pam says that's it and tells Tara to get back on the pole for she's very good at dancing. ("In the Beginning")
Pam wears an oriental themed outfit for work in Fangtasia. Pam listens as Tara is insulted by Tracy Topps, a racist white trash clothing store owner. Tracy is pretending to be nice but everything she says is an insult, for example telling Tara that as a Vampire she is now "a member of two minorities".
Tracy insists that Tara has mixed her the wrong drink, blatantly changing her order after the drink has been poured. She calls Tara lazy and uppity. Tara swallows the insults then warns that they're not in high school anymore and that if Tracy persists with her racism she will "rip out [her] heart and fry it with grits and collar greens". Pam speeds over to the bar, scolds Tara and apologizes to Tracy, offering her the drink on the house.
Tracy insults Tara again, saying that she never could connect with people. Tara counters that she connected enough with Tracy's boyfriend to fuck him. Pam smirks with a hint of glee. Tracy claims that her life is great while Tara is just a barkeep. Tara responds "fuck you." Tracey moves on and Pam tells Tara that is enough and not to get uppity with her either.
Later, Pam goes behind the bar and tells Tara that they need to talk about her attitude. Tara is just about to make a customer a Margarita, Pam effortlessly glamours him into desiring a "Flat half empty beer" and slide's a discarded pint to him. He drinks contentedly while Tara looks amused and impressed. Pam says to follow her "now" and Tara looks slightly scared.
Tracy is barefoot and spread eagle chained to the wheel in the basement of Fangtasia. Pam tells Tara that Tracy is hers and that she owes her after all the shit she was saying to her. Tara says that she though Pam was Mad to which Pam replies "You don't know me that well, my mad face and my happy face are the same."
Pam effortlessly glamours Tracy just as she did the customer. She prepares her for her new role in life, while turning the wheel around:
"You, are worthless. Your only purpose is to serve Tara Thornton. You will worship Tara. Everything about her is a revelation. You exist only for Tara's nourishment. You will consider it a privilege to have your racist Peckerwood blood shoot into her gorgeous cocoa mouth. You are an unpaid food whore, a slave. And Tara is your master."
Pam looks at Tara and tells her to have fun. She ascends the stairs back to the club and smiles as Tara makes Tracy beg to be drained. ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Pam and Tara talk about Fangtasia only having a few weeks worth of Tru Blood on hand. Tara points out that it will be a bloodbath when their supplies run out. Pam wants to stay out of the politics, telling Tara that it is one of two things that she stays away from, along with people that eat a lot of fish. Tara has noticed that Pam is concerned about Eric and offers to talk, but Pam brusquely tells her to get back to work. Tara angrily replies "suck me, vampire barbie" and leaves. Alone again, Pam looks at an old photo of her and Eric; Tara was right about her worries.
Pam tries to stop a vampire (Elijah) from feeding on a human in Eric's throne. He tells her that the ban on public feeding has been lifted. He announces "Northman's history" and that he is the new sheriff of Area 5. He throws Pam across the bar. ("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
Elijah counts his cut from Fangtasia and is disappointed with $600. Pam fiegns surprise that he can count past five. Elijah demands the rest of the money. Tara explains that there is nothing legal for vampires and humans are not exactly flocking in. Elijah asks how Pam is paying her employees and Tara replies that "she doesn't". He suggests that Fangtasia should have a peep show where a human would pay $20 to put a body part of their choice through a door where a vampire will have 30 seconds to feed. He suggests that such an attraction usually makes $2000 an hour. He insists that they need to make more money as the protection of their sheriff is not cheap. He gives Tara and Pam back their cut. As Tara is leaving he says that they have orders from the Authority to create 30 new baby vampires in their area by the end of the year. Pam dissents and Elijah warns that if she doesn't comply he is authorized to take her assets including her progeny.
Pam tells Tara that there is not one person in the bar that she would want to turn. Tara suggests that she will turn two, adding "I always wanted kids". Pam rebuffs her idea and tells her they should procreate because they want to, not because they're told to. Tara asks if she's going to let Elijah take everything away including her. Pam tells her that he can have the bar, because at this point it is not worth much, while they will live together in the wind, like she did with Eric.
Pam hears Ginger screaming, and speeds in to see that Tare has destroyed Elijah, using Ginger as bait. Tara wipes Elijah's remains off the sword and says "No one fucks with us in our house". Pam regards her with a hint of pride. ("Gone, Gone, Gone")
Pam examines the desk in her office as Tara explains that she's cleaned all of Elijah's blood off of it. Pam warns Tara that the Authority won't be happy about Elijah's murder. Pam explains that the Authority have the power to do anything they want to any vampire. Pam commands Tara not to speak of Elijah ever again and storms out. Pam runs into Jessica in the bar and Jessica pleads for Pam to hide her. Pam refuses initially, but eventually relents after Jessica tells her where Eric is.
In the basement of Fangtasia, Tara, Jessica and Pam discuss Bill and Eric's behavior. Pam believes they have been affected by living in the Authority nest and drinking tainted blood. Jessica and Tara chat, as Jessica asks Tara if she "like" likes Pam because of the way she looks at her. Tara gets defensive and upset that Jessica is getting in her business. Jessica explains that she has no friends, and they make amends, solidifying their bond.
Rosalyn comes to Fangtasia knowing that her progeny Elijah was killed. She attacks Tara and accuses her. Pam claims that she killed Elijah. Rosalyn arrests Pam and takes her to the Authority headquarters. As they are leaving, Rosalyn senses Jessica and takes her in as well. ("Sunset")Tara works with Eric and Sookie to infiltrate the authority headquarters. Pam and Jessica are freed by Sookie and Tara while Eric disables the security system. Pam passionately kisses Tara as they are reunited. Eric meets the group at the elevator. After they share a brief moment, he sends Pam and the others up warning them to expect more guards, then takes Sookie to find Bill. ("Save Yourself")
Lafayette Reynolds
Lafayette is sleeping at Sookie's house. He hears a gun blast and runs downstairs to see Tara shot in the head.
She is about to tell him about Debbie, but Lafayette--now completely bald-headed, having apparently used the razor to shave it--comes downstairs and tells Alcide to leave.
While he is gone Tara emerges from the ground and goes to attack Sookie, who screams for Lafayette.("Turn! Turn! Turn!")
Sookie is bitten by Tara and is unable to get her off, even with the assistance of Lafayette. Pam finally comes to her aide and pulls Tara away. She tells Tara not to bite them.
When she returns to the house she telepathically hears Lafayette in the cubby with Tara.
Lafayette returns to Sookie's house and tells her that he looked everywhere for Tara.
With Tara in the freezer, Sookie tells Lafayette that they have to spend the day at work ensuring that no one walks in there and learns about her.
Andy questions Sookie about Debbie's location while she is working. Sookie tells him that she and Debbie never got along due to her friendship with Alcide. She maintains that while she didn't like Debbie, she doesn't know where she is.
Sookie follows Alcide outside to explain what has happened.
At Merlotte's, Arlene shames Lafayette for allowing Tara to become a vampire while she waits for an order of gumbo. Lafayette screams at Arlene and yells for her to leave his kitchen. Lafayette then grabs a bottle of bleach and pours it into the gumbo. When Lafayette looks into a mirror, his face has shifted into that of a demon. Lafayette then realizes what he was doing, grabs the pot and upends it in the sink. He panics over what just happened.
Lafayette steps out of his car behind Merlotte's and notices Sookie's car. He begins speaking in tongues and holds both hands out lifting Sookie's car from the ground. His demon suddenly emerges, placing a spell on the vehicle.
Lafayette calls Sookie and asks if she's okay after finding her wrecked car. ("We’ll Meet Again")
Lafayette goes home and worries about the fact that Sookie could've died because of what he did to her car. He looks in the mirror to see the demon in his reflection. Lafayette curses the demon, then lights some candles and prays to God saying he's tired of all the supernatural happening around him. His praying statues suddenly start to tease him and he destroys them and proclaims he's a good man. Falling to his knees, Lafayette calls to Jesus and asks for a sign because he needs some help.
Lafayette is sleeping on his couch and wakes up to see Jesus' head mumbling as his mouth was sewn shut. Horrified, Lafayette screams at what he's seeing.
("Let's Boot and Rally")
Lafayette goes to visit Ruby Jean, who tells him that Jesus appeared to her too and wants to talk to him. Lafayette asks why she saw him, and she says that she doesn't know, that the electricity has always run through her. She then tells him to save Jesus, sending him on his way with a few anti-gay epithets delivered in a loving voice.
("Hopeless")
Lafayette goes to Jesus' family home. He finds Jesus' head on a chair and then finds a gun pointed at him. Jesus' grandfather then tells Lafayette that his family is taking back what belongs to them. Lafayette, whose mouth has been sewn shut, watches Bartolo begin some sort of ceremony involving his wife's pregnant belly. Just before he can strike Lafayette down, Bartolo's wife jumps up from behind him and stabs him to death. She then cuts Lafayette free.
("In the Beginning")
On his way home in Jesus' car Lafayette uses some V to heal his lips. He sees Jesus sitting next to him in the car and they hold hands.
Lafayette returns home, interested only in a bath and a blunt. He finds Arlene and Holly waiting for him, wanting him to help them with Terry's curse. Lafayette says he'll do it for $300.
Lafayette agrees to attempt to get rid of Terry and Patrick's curse. He goes through the motions at first, but then the Iraqi woman actually makes an appearance. Lafayette tells the soldiers that she is still furious and the only way to break the curse is for one of them to die. Patrick jumps up and runs off. ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Patrick takes Arlene hostage in an attempt to kill Terry. However the couple are able to overpower and kill him, freeing Terry from the curse.
The destruction of Tru Blood manufacturing plants leads to an increase in vampire attacks and a government warning not to go out after dark.
("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
Andy meets Holly in the bar and she reveals that she has asked Lafayette to prepare dinner for them as a thank you for taking her home from work every night during the vampire crisis. Holly flirts with Andy as they eat.
The message from Gran turns up an ancient contract by Sookie's ancestor, promising to give the vampire M. Warlow his first fae bearing female heir. ("Gone, Gone, Gone")Lafayette is at Merlotte's when a heavily pregnant Maurella visits. She tells Andy that he is the father. ("Sunset")
Maurella visits Merlotte's and asks Andy for salt. She downs a whole shaker as he tries to explain their affair to Holly. Maurella's light breaks and she goes into labor.
Holly is forced to midwife as Maurella gives birth to 4 baby girls. She quickly leaves, instructing Andy to take care of their children and make sure at least two survive into adulthood. Holly, shocked, calls Andy a dick. ("Save Yourself")Jessica Hamby
Jessica arrives at Jason's house and saves him from Steve Newlin's attack. She claims that she is the progeny of Bill Compton, the "King of Louisiana", and that he is out of town- which pretty much leaves her the "Queen". She also claims to Steve, "Jason is Mine!".
Later Jessica is having a party at Bill's house. Jason shows up and stays to party with the frat boys and the sorority girls. Jessica sings karaoke while Jason plays the guitar from Rockstar Hero. Zander interrupts them, and Jessica begins to make out with him. While Jason leaves with Cammy, Jessica watches - showing a tinge of jealousy. ("Turn! Turn! Turn!")While Jessica is having another party, Steve Newlin appears at the doorstep of Bill's house and wants to "purchase" Jason Stackhouse for $10,000. Jessica amuses the idea that Steve is willing to pay that much money for Jason, and asks for $20,000 instead. When Steve eventually agrees to it, Jessica tells him that she does not sell her friends. ("Authority Always Wins")
While trying on dresses at a boutique, Tracy tells Jessica she doesn't have to try so hard to get Jason's attention. Jessica tells her that there is a lot more to Jason than what meets the eye and guesses that Jason broke up with Tracy a while back and that she should keep quiet if she wants her to keep spending "daddy's money." A mysterious guy walks in, and tells Tracy he is there to pick up a number of dresses for his sixteen sisters. Jessica proclaims that he smells wonderful, he quickly leaves, and she follows him to a field where he is nowhere to be found.
Later, she goes to Jason's house and tells him about this mysterious guy and how he smelt like "cotton candy, fresh bread and sex," and makes advances onto Jason. He tells her that he doesn't want to have sex and that she should leave because he doesn't know how to befriend girls; he only knows how to have sex with them. She tells him how she is his friend, and tells him she's going to sit down and listen to his problems. They both smile warmly. ("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
Jessica overhears the conversation Jason and Sookie are having about Debbie and Tara, and interrupts them surprised that Tara is a vampire. Later while Jason and Andy are talking about the Debbie Pelt case, Jessica uses vampire speed to enter the room and shortly after glamours Andy into forgetting about the case.
Jessica is helping Bill search the mansion for bugs that could have been used to hear his conversations. Bill finds a joint and asks Jessica about it, and she explains that she had some friends over, but nobody was killed or drained. Bills tells her that its fine and that this is her house too. Jessica asks him if he is going to visit Sookie, because she has been having a hard time. He says that she took care of it with the sheriff, but to not make a habit out of it because Sookie tends to bring it out in people. He hugs her before he leaves, saying that he did a good job.
Tara suddenly snatches and feeds on her, to which Pam immediately stops, pinning her against the wall.
Jessica approaches Tara at the bar and orders TruBlood. Jessica tells Tara that she knows what Tara’s feeling about her new impulses and can relate. Both girls share a bonding moment while they discuss Tara's wild emotions as a new vampire. Jessica then offers her friendship to Tara, and Tara seems to be into the idea. Tara tells her that her feelings to feed on humans are bad. Jessica assures her that those feeling are the opposite because it's part of who they are. Jessica then asks if Tara fed on a human, and she says yes and enjoyed it. Jessica then says that wait until Tara feeds on a human while having sex with them, as the feeling is amazing. Jessica then assures Tara that they're going to live and stay young forever and that the world is open to them. Tara seems to be fond of her words.
Tara is feeding on Hoyt while Jessica feeds on the girl Tara attempted to publicly feed on earlier. When Hoyt begs Tara to stop, Jessica takes notices of this and pulls Tara off of him. Both girls begin to brawl in the bathroom. ("Let's Boot and Rally")
At Fangtasia, Tara and Jessica are in a knock-down fist fight, which Pam watches for a bit with an amused smile before calling it off.
Hoyt finds Jessica sulking in the corner at Fangtasia and tells her that he knows that she still loves him. Jessica tells Hoyt that this is pathetic but Hoyt goes on, insisting that Jessica still cares for him. He inflames Jessica's anger and she jumps on him. He asks her to glamour him, bite him, or do anything she wants to him. She says that he is not himself and leaves. Hoyt then gets up and yells out "This is me Dammit!!" ("Hopeless")A drunken Jason pays Jessica a visit. Jessica just stops feeding from a young man when she goes downstairs. Jason tells her about his parents being killed by a vampire and says he's going to find out who did it. Jessica supports him and tells Jason that not all vampires are alike. She then kisses him and Jason pulls back saying she tastes blood. He then asks if she just finished feeding from someone. Jessica apologizes but Jason is pissed and tells the human to come downstairs. The guy walks out but Jessica tells the man to go back in the room. Jason then yells at Jessica saying that she's no different from the vampire that killed his parents. An insulted and angered Jessica bites down on Jason's neck and Jason then shoots her in the head. Jessica screams in pain and suddenly all the guards run in asking if everything is okay aiming at Jason. Jessica is mad that Jason just shot her in the head and Jason tells her she'll heal. Then suddenly her bullet hole in her head heals. Jason then says he'll heal too and swipes Jessica's blood off his jackets and wipes it over his bite wounds that heal also. Jessica angrily throws him his jacket and tells him to get out of her mansion. ("In the Beginning")
A man seduces Jessica at the bar and the two leave together.
Hoyt is brought to a remote compound by his new redneck buddies. They show him that they've captured Jessica. They want him to kill her with some silver and wooden bullets. They lock him in a room with her and refuse to open the door until he kills her.
Hoyt asks Jessica why she stopped loving him. She says she wanted to love him, even going so far as to pray that the feelings would return, but it just never happened. The lone member of the group still watching them hears a shot from the room. He unlocks the door and Jessica breaks his neck. Since it's daylight Jessica can't leave, so Hoyt goes for help.
Sam, Andy and Luna arrive at the compound and find Jessica. Sam and Luna smell a human woman. Jessica is surprised Hoyt's not the reason they are there. ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Jessica assures the police that Hoyt is not one of the anti-supernatural hate group. Jason arrives and Jessica says that she can no longer feel Hoyt. She's worried something has happened to him and that it will be her fault.
With the sun about to come up Jessica leaves the police station. She makes Jason promise that he will find Hoyt. Jason and Andy determine a link between ex-sheriff Bud Dearborne and the Obamas. They raid his pig farm and find that he has taken Sookie and Hoyt prisoner. The Obamas are all either arrested or killed, their prisoners are rescued, and Hoyt is taken to the hospital with a weak pulse.
The gunmen barge into Jason as they flee the bar. He asks Sam what is going on before seeing that Jessica is there. He is concerned that she is there without her guards. She tells him that Bill stopped paying them so they left the mansion, adding that it is a good thing because they were starting to look tasty to her. They realize that they are both there at Hoyt's invitation just before he walks in.
Hoyt explains his plan to move to Alaska. Jessica and Jason try to convince him to stay, to no avail. He asks Jessica to glamour away all memory of both her and Jason before he leaves, so he can make a fresh start. Jessica is devastated by the finality of his request but obliges him. She tenderly imbues him with hope for a carefree life and a new, better first love. Jason and Jessica tearfully leave Hoyt alone in the booth.
Jessica returns to her empty mansion, reminiscing about her time with Hoyt. She is startled by the sound of splintering wood. The Authority Guard Captain has brought a team to take her to the authority headquarters. Jessica objects but the Captain shows her a video uplink with Bill and he commands her to obey. Annoyed, she puts on her shoes.
Jessica angrily demands an explanation on arriving at the Authority Headquarters. Bill says that he is trying to protect her.
The authority meet to discuss spreading their anti-human message.
Jessica finds Jason and asks him if he trusts her. The guards tell Jessica that if she doesn't put him in the ground, they will. Jessica bites Jason and violently sucks his blood.
Jessica lies next to a still Jason in a grave as her guards begin to bury them. Jessica signals Jason and he suddenly shoots both guards dead with wooden bullets. Jason exclaims he has to warn Sookie about Russell, and Jessica tells him that if she was to spend eternity with anyone, she'd rather it be him.
Rosalyn comes to Fangtasia knowing that her progeny Elijah Stormer was killed. She attacks Tara and accuses her. Pam claims that she killed Elijah. Rosalyn arrests Pam and takes her to the Authority headquarters. As they are leaving, Rosalyn senses Jessica and takes her in as well.
Jessica returns to the main chamber. Bill yet again tries to persuade her to follow the way of Lilith. She tells him that living in a nest with the Authority has made him go completely crazy. He slaps her across the room. ("Sunset")
Jason, Sookie, Eric, and Tara infiltrate the authority headquarters to save their friends. Sookie and Tara free Jessica and Pam from the cells while Eric disables the security system. Jessica is amused when Pam passionately kisses Tara as they are reunited.
Jessica is thrilled to see Jason guarding the elevator lobby for their exit. She professes her love for him. He rejects her because she is a vampire. Eric sends most of the group in the elevator, warning them to expect more guards, then takes Sookie to find Bill. ("Save Yourself")Jason Stackhouse
Jason answers the door to his home nude and Steve Newlin is there, saying he only wants to talk. Steve says he doesn't have anyone to turn to, and doesn't even know who turned him. He said it was a strange woman who just left him; she didn't even give him her name. Steve glamours Jason though, and Jason allows him into his home.
Steve, still glamouring Jason, tapes his mouth shut. He says he will release him from the glamour soon, and that all he will remember is that he asked Steve inside and asked to have the tape put over his mouth. After he is released, Steve begins to talk to him. Apologizing for being all "murderous", Steve claims he is now a "gay Vampire-American" and in love with Jason. Steve then rips the tape off Jason's mouth, and Jason says he is flattered by Steve's feelings and forgives him for acting "murderous". He says though, "this dog don't bark that way". Steve gets angry because Jason doesn't return his feelings, but Jason says that's not how love works. He attacks Jason, but Jessica shows up and saves him. Jason rescinds his invitation, and Steve is forced out, but not before saying "I love you!". Jessica then kisses Jason as a presumed prelude of more intimacy.
At Merlotte's, Jason and Andy are eating lunch when Judge Clemmons approaches to discuss a speeding ticket his son Ronny got. Jason tries to talk to the road crew, including Hoyt, but they continue to tease him and call him "girlfriend fucker". Hoyt tells Jason to "get the fuck out of my face".
At Bill's, Jessica is having a party with college kids. They tell Jessica to join college, but she claims she is already big and powerful. Jason arrives and takes off his cop uniform so that he can join the party. Jason gets his feelings hurt when he finds out that Jessica didn't mean anything by saying "Jason is Mine" to Steve Newlin. Cammy shows interest in Jason, and he eagerly sits next to her.
Jason and Jessica play Guitar Hero and sing "Cherry Bomb". Jason sees a frat boy start to come on to Jessica, so he decides to hit on Cammy. He leaves with her and brings her out to the squad car. Jessica watches Jason leave. Cammy says she can go to her sorority house, but Jason says he just wants to take her back and not have sex. He explains that he just doesn't want to be a bad guy, who would end up hurting her.("Turn! Turn! Turn!")
Jason and Andy are on patrol when Andy starts to discuss Holly and their relationship. He is worried about her avoidance of him, but Jason states it's a good thing. Andy asks about Jason and his "vampire lady friend" (Jessica), wondering if it's a good situation. Jason shows a bit of hesitation, but says yes, it is the perfect situation. They pull up on an abandoned mini-van. Jason discovers it belongs to Debbie Pelt while Andy discovers V. He first put's it in his pocket, but then hands it over to Jason- who pours it out.
Jason is at the police station and is watching the news with Steve Newlin's interview. When he is asked about his love life, he claims to have a woman who makes him very happy. Jason is relieved that Steve doesn't mention his name. Andy walks in and ask's Kevin Ellis about the ticket he gaves to Judge Clemmons son Ronny. Kevin says that he was going 80 in a school zone and also flipped him off. He tells Kevin to expunge the ticket (even though Ronny almost killed a kid). He is the sheriff, and Kevin has no choice but to listen. A young boy walks into the station asking for Officer Stackhouse, then punches him. He says his parents are getting a divorce because Jason slept with his mom Sharon Singer. Jason at first doesn't remember her, but after seeing a picture of her says "Oh yeah, Crazy Sharon", which starts another minor brawl. Andy breaks up the fight and brings the kid out of the station.
At Maxine's house Hoyt is under the sink fixing it. Jason shows up and tries to speak to Hoyt, but he still wont talk to him. He says that instead of living with his mom, he can stay at his house, and he'll stay at Sookies. Hoyt doesn't want any part of Jason's friendship anymore and kicks him out. On the way out, Maxine pretends to be mad at Jason, but at the door, she says thank you for splitting up Hoyt and Jessica and that she will even make him a pie. ("Authority Always Wins")
Jason is grocery shopping and runs into his old high school teacher, Miss Steeler. Awkwardly surprised, they reminisce, with her revealing she was recently divorced and moved back to Bon Temps from Indiana. Jason suggestively remnds her that he remembers everything she taught him. Embarrassed, Miss Steeler attempts to leave, but Jason stops her.
Jason joins Miss Steeler at her house for a cup of tea. While they continue reminiscing, Jason tells her that what they had in high school was amazing. She tells him it was wrong, says that it was a mistake and apologizes to him. Jason says that he isn't sorry and that what they had was no mistake. Jason runs his hand between her thighs and kisses her neck and she quickly submits.
Jason and Miss Steeler lie naked on the floor of her hourse. Satisfied, Miss Steeler happily offers Jason wine. Jason, however, realizes that what they did in high school was indeed a mistake. Jason grabs his clothes and leaves.
Jessica visits Jason at home, still excited after her first encounter with a Fairy. Turned on by the smell of the fairy's blood, Jessica attempts to have sex with Jason. He rejects her after having had his epiphany. Jason realizes that he's not a piece of meat and refuses to try and fill the void in his heart with sex anymore. Jason says that he cannot be friends with girls because he immediately thinks of having sex with them first. He asks Jessica to leave. Instead, she instructs Jason to grab a beer while she puts on one of his sweats and then says that they will talk about what happened to him. She assures Jason that they can be friends, and he agrees. ("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
Sookie pounds on Jason's door.
Andy Bellefleur is at the station flirting with Holly Cleary on the phone. Judge Clements walks in and teases Andy about his nude picture on Facebook while also thanking him for clearing a speeding ticket on behalf of his son. The Judge then invites Andy and Jason out for the night to celebrate, pointedly excluding Deputy Kevin Ellis. Clements than says he will meet them at the station later that night, teasing Andy once more as he leaves.
The Pelt family calls Andy at the station to say that they no longer wish to search for Debbie. Jason says that's great as now they can close the case. Andy refuses and says he'll try to get a search warrant from Judge Clements to search the homes in the vicinity of where Debbie's car was found. He reassures Jason that he will not have to participate in the search of Sookie's house. Jessica runs in and glamours Andy into forgetting about the case. Jason is relieved and tells Jessica that she really is a good friend to have.
Judge Clements, Andy and Jason get into a limousine with three beautiful women Delilah, Angelica, and Lilianne. As they sit, bags are placed over their heads. Jason and Andy grow paranoid, but Judge Clements assures them that it's okay and seems to be enjoying it. One of the girls tells the chauffeur to drive.
Andy, Jason and Judge Clements are still wearing bags over their heads as they are walked into a field by the girls. Their escorts open a portal to the fairy world and take the three men inside. The bags are removed so that they can take in the nightclub setting. Judge Clements leaves with one girl and Jason hooks up with another, Leda. Andy recognizes the fairy Maurella and speaks to her.
Jason is making out with Leda in the fairy nightclub. She stops and says that he's thinking about someone else - a vampire. Jason wonders how she read his mind and asks where he is. He is surprised to see his cousin Hadley. They happily greet one another. Jason tells her that Sookie is alive. Hadley asks if Jason is a refugee from vampires. He says no, then deduces that he's in a fairy refuge from vampires. Hadley says that Sookie needs to be there with them. Jason disagrees, noting that Sookie suffered the last time she got mixed up with fairies. Jason believes that she is better off staying with vampires. Hadley says that they should get Sookie to safety before she is killed by vampires, just like Jason and Sookie's parents were. Leda is angry with Hadley for speaking out of turn. Jason says that his parents were killed in a flood, but starts to wonder if what he was told is true. Hadley mutters that she's said too much and leaves. Jason tries to catch up to her, but other fairies separate them. Andy intervenes and tries to help Jason. They are thrown out of the fairy safehouse. They look around and realize that they are in the middle of a field. Andy notices two male fairies appear in front of them. Andy and Jason scream as they are hit with beams of light projected by both fairies. ("We’ll Meet Again")
Jason wakes up wearing pajamas on the couch. He sees his parents and a young Sookie having breakfast at the dining table. His dad asks if he's ready to take on the sting rays and Jason happily agrees. While preparing to eat his cereal, Jason notices that both of his parents have bite wounds gushing blood. He tries to tell them, but both are oblivious to it. Jason's mother asks if he wants sex to make him feel better. Jason suddenly wakes up naked on his own couch as he gets a phone call, realizing it was a dream. Jason picks up and asks Rosie what year is it, to which he's happy to learn that he's still in the same year as before. Jason then goes to his bedroom to dress, muttering curses about the faeries.
Jason arrives at the scene of the murder of Suzanne McKittrick and Emory Broome. As he is examining the bodies, he sees his dead parents in their place with vampire bites on their necks. Andy calls Jason over. Jason asks him if he remembers how they got home. Andy says that he doesn't, and Jason tells him that the people in the club were fairies. Andy shakes off the thought of having slept with a fairy. He refuses to let what happened ruin what he has with Holly and tells Jason that they'll never speak of it again.
Jason finds a wooden bullet lodged in a tree. He extrapolates that the shooters might also have a grudge against vampires and the supernatural. Jason realizes that before vampires made themselves public, the supernatural have been killing for years making it seem like natural death. Jason then says that vampires have been getting away with murder for too long. Andy determines where the shooters fired from and what kind of tires their vehicle had. He concludes that they killed in cold blood.
Jason visits his parent's graves, his grief rekindled by discovering the truth about their deaths.
That night Sam and Luna Garza are shot by masked gunmen outside Luna's home. ("Let's Boot and Rally")
Jason seemingly awakens from a nap to see his father. He reminisces about his mother and father, remembering that his father always used to call him "champ," and that it made him feel good. His father smiles and listens as Jason says "I swear to God, and to you both, I'm going to find that vampire that killed you, and make him pay for what he did you our family." Jason's father nods and says, "The only thing you have to fear, is..." Jason truly wakes up before his father can finish, alone.
Sookie, Arlene and Holly complain about men at Merlotte's. Jason arrives to tell Sookie about the faerie nightclub. Sookie commands Jason to take her to the location.
Jason takes Sookie to the field where the faerie club manifested, and at first she doesn't see anything. She senses the club and walks through the invisible entrance. Jason can't follow her at first, but then she pulls him in. Inside Sookie finds Hadley with Claude.
Jason and Sookie quiz Claude inside the faerie club. Sookie asks if it's true that vampires killed her mother and father. Claude says that he only knows what Claudine told him: an Unknown Vampire ambushed their parents because he was drawn to something he smelled in the back seat of their car. In a flashback, Sookie's parents stop their car on a bridge so they don't hit a man standing in the middle of the road. The man rifles through their backseat, finding a bandage with Sookie's blood on it. Sookie angrily says that she doesn't believe Claude. She tries to manifest her photkinesis but it fails, and a group of faeries in the bar shoot their own beams at her as she screams. ("Hopeless")
At the fairy club Hot Wings, Claude and his sister tell Sookie that since she is only half-faerie, her magic is finite. They warn that if she isn't careful how she uses it, it will run out and she will no longer be faerie. Sookie is intrigued by this possibility.
Jason makes Sookie breakfast in their childhood home. They talk about what they've learned. Jason finds out that Sookie feels responsible for their parent's death because it was her blood the vampire was after. Jason tells Sookie that it was not her fault.
Jason pays Jessica a drunken a visit. He interrupts her feeding on a young man. Jason tells her about his parents being killed by a vampire and says that he's going to find out who did it. Jessica supports him and tells Jason that not all vampires are alike and that she is good. She kisses him and Jason pulls away, tasting blood. He asks if she has been feeding on someone. Jessica apologizes and says she didn't expect to see him tonight, but Jason is pissed and yells at her partner to come downstairs. The guy walks out and Jessica tells him to go back in the room. Jason yells that she's no different from the vampire that killed his parents. Jessica calls Jason a hypocrite, and angrily bites his neck. Jason shoots her in the head to make her stop. Her guards run in asking if everything is okay, aiming their weapons at Jason. Jessica is furious at Jason's violence. Jason challenges that she will heal, which she does. Jason says that he will heal too and wipes Jessica's blood off his jacket over his bite wounds, proving his point. Jessica shouts at Jason "get the fuck out of my mansion!" He responds " gladly", and leaves.
Sookie walks into her front yard, musing on the knowledge the fae gave her. She repeatedly triggers her faerie light, trying to drain her powers and become human. Jason sees the light and rushes to stop Sookie. ("In the Beginning")
("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Jessica assures the police that Hoyt is not one of the Obamas anti-supernatural hate group. Jason arrives and Jessica says that she can no longer feel Hoyt. She's worried something has happened to him and that it will be her fault.
With the sun about to come up Jessica leaves the police station. She makes Jason promise that he will find Hoyt. The cops finds a website called "Keep America Human." On the site is a video of the Obamas tying vampires down in the sun. They hear references to "Long live the Dragon!" and Andy is reminded of Cleetus Boathouse, a former Ku Kluk Klansman who died 20 years ago. Andy and Jason wonder who the new Dragon might be. They question Joe Bob but he won't tell them anything about the Dragon; they give him a severe beating but he still says nothing.
Luna and Sam go unnoticed, listening to their conversation in fly form.
Jason and Andy break into Bud's place. Jason sees a framed photo of Bud's wife and recalls that her family owned a pig farm. The shifters used their eavesdropping to go straight to the farm, finding that Bud and the Obamas have taken Hoyt and Sookie captive.
Sam, shifted into a pig, saves Sookie from being thrown into the pigpen by catching her. The groups leader Sweetie Des Arts runs away as soon as she sees the "dirty shifter." Sam takes on all the Obamas and fares well. The surviving Obamas are arrested and Hoyt is taken to hospital. ("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
Hoyt invites Jason to Merlotte's. He arrives to find Jessica already there and is concerned that she is there without her guards.
Jason picks Sookie up from her home. She tries to console him about Hoyt's departure. Inside they find a metal box with a scroll covered with arcane symbols.
Jessica finds Jason, with orders to turn him into a vampire, and asks him if he trusts her.
Jason interrupts Sookie as she talks to the faeries, shouting for her out in the field. He warns Sookie that Russell is searching for her.
("Sunset")
Russell is ambushed by Eric just as he is about to enter the nightclub. Eric takes advantage of the situation and manages to stake Russell bringing him the True Death, satisfying a long held lust for revenge. Steve Newlin looks on in horror as his boyfriend is staked and then runs off into the woods. Sookie rushes to help Jason and finds him groggy from a head injury, but alive.
Jason revels in the violence against vampires, killing many himself as he guards the reception area. Sookie and Tara go to the cells to free Pam and Jessica while Eric and Nora disable the security system.
Jessica is thrilled to see Jason and professes her love for him. He rejects her because she is a vampire. Eric sends most of the group in the elevator, warning them to expect more guards, then takes Sookie to find Bill. ("Save Yourself")Tara Thornton
Season 5 picks up moments before the end of season 4, just as Debbie Pelt is about to burst into Sookie's kitchen with a shotgun. The scene plays out once again along with Tara's unfortunate injury, but this time we see Pam enter looking for Eric. Sookie initially screams at her to leave, but Lafayette - desperate to save his cousin Tara at any cost - begs Pam to turn her. After initially rejecting the idea, Pam agrees so long as Sookie promises to help her get back in Eric's good graces, and "owes her one." Pam performs the appropriate ritual, spending the night in the ground with Tara, and as nightfall approaches, Sookie and Lafayette are waiting with bated breath - hoping for a miracle. Nightfall comes, and there is no activity until Pam suddenly emerges from the dirt prompting Sookie to begin digging for Tara. As she uncovers her best friend's face, she begins to sob uncontrollably as she is convinced the attempt has failed and Tara is gone forever. Suddenly, and in a blinding blur, Tara springs forth from her earthen slumber as a newly made vampire. Bearing a menacing expression, the season premiere ends with Tara lunging toward Sookie, who screams for Lafayette.("Turn! Turn! Turn!")
Tara bites Sookie as she emerges from the ground. Lafayette tries to help Sookie but only gets pushed back. Finally Pam comes to the rescue, and as her maker, orders her not to bite Sookie or Lafayette. She then rushes her back into Sookie's home before leaving for Fangtasia. Tara starts to destroy the kitchen. She is not acting like herself, and before biting Lafayette, hits herself in the head before running upstairs to do more damage. Sookie knows it will be daylight soon and with help from Lafayette they use a silver chain to bring her to Eric's cubby. While Tara is sleeping she is almost staked by Lafayette, but Sookie, returning from the Stake House, overhears his thoughts hesitating to do it and talks him out of it. Later, Sookie tries to talk to her, but Tara only says that she will never forgive either of them for what they have done to her. ("Authority Always Wins")
Tara stands in the middle of the woods, confused and amazed at her new-found heightened senses. As her wounds heal before her eyes, she senses the heartbeat of animals nearby and clearly sees the skies beyond what the human eye can. Lafayette Reynolds and Sookie Stackhouse appear, yelling for her. Tara runs off before they can see her and stops when she sees a girl (Lindsey) trying to fix the flat tire of her car. Tara attacks the girl, slamming her against the hood of the vehicle. Her victim begs for her life. Tara then sees her reflection on the windshield and stops herself. She apologizes and runs off.
Sookie and Lafayette spend the night unsuccessfully searching for Tara. Sam places here in the walk in freeze to protect her from the sunlight but is unable to conceal their encounter from Sookie when she arrives for work.
Lafayette tries to give Tara a bottle of TruBlood after she awakens. She throws Lafayette through the freezer door.
Tara is seen passing the "Curl Up and Fry" tanning salon in town. She breaks in and lies on a tanning bed. Turning it on, she screams as the ultraviolet rays burn her. In Fangtasia, while Pam is working in her office, she feels Tara's self-inflicted pain. Pam shakes her head, muttering, "You stupid bitch." ("Whatever I Am, You Made Me")
Pam gets to the "Curl Up and Fry" salon just in time to stop Tara from killing herself in a tanning bed. Tara asserts that she cannot live as a vampire and attempts to turn the bed back on despite Pam telling her not to. As Tara's maker, Pam commands Tara not to ever do it again. An angry Tara is compelled to turn off the tanning bed.
Pam brings Tara to Fangtasia and finds the bar shut. She screams at Ginger for closing earlier than the usual time. She enters to find, Eric sitting on his chair. He says that he closed early. Pam shakes with relief seeing her Maker back.
Pam wakes Tara up and introduces her to a human named Melanie. She tells Tara to feed on her. Tara refuses, but Melanie says it's okay and she doesn't mind. Tara is resolute, but Pam commands Tara to feed. Tara is compelled to bite Melanie and Pam shows Tara how to properly feed without killing. Pam also soothes Tara and says that she is now on top of the food chain and no human can hurt her anymore. ("We’ll Meet Again")
Tara emerges in the midst of the Fangtasia Nightclub in a purple corset in slow motion, and gets looks and stares off the patrons, even a little look from Pam. Pam compliments how much better she looks in her clothes. Tara rebuts that if she wanted to look like a drag queen she would have raided Lafayette's closet. Then Pam throws a towel at her, and tells her to get behind the bar for her job, clearly annoyed she states how she is now Pam's slave.
While serving a human girl who asks if she's new to the bar, Tara's Vampire nature, drives her to pull her over the bar and try to feed on her. Suddenly Pam swoops in, and grabs Tara by the neck, hold her up and tells her she is never to feed on a human in public again.
Jessica in the bar sees this and when Tara goes back to serving, asks for a drink and gets to talking to her. They talk about Makers, and Jessica states that Pam is not all bad, and that she will allow Tara to feed on humans, where Bill would not. They talk more as Jessica believes they could be friends, as she knows what she going through.
Tara smokes a cigarette and is surprised when she in one breath almost smokes the whole cigarette, while lighting another she notices Hoyt, and they talk how
she didn't take him for a fangbanger and he didn't take her for a fanger.
At some point Jessica is in the ladies room feeding, and in the next stall Tara is feeding on Hoyt, Jessica recognizes his voice and smashes through the cubicle door and is pissed that Tara would do that. The two start to fight about it. ("Let's Boot and Rally")
At Fangtasia, Tara and Jessica are in a knock-down fist fight, in which Tara is seemingly winning throwing Jessica from the ladies room into a table. When Jessica picks up a chair and tries to hit Tara she deflects it, and picks up Jessica and throws her in the air, and vampire patrons catch her.
Pam watches for a bit with an amused smile before calling it off. Nothing more."
(This shows that Tara is a strong for a new Vampire, as she is only a few days old and was able to virtually beat Jessica, where Steve Newlin couldn't, this is most likely why Pam is impressed as she is a new Vampire who is a fierce fighter and strong possibly due to her cage fighter training.) ("Hopeless")
Pam walks into the office and tries to console Tara who is crying feeling down about her mother. Tara says she hates her mother but yet she's crying for her. Pam then comforts Tara and tells her that Lettie Mae is not Tara's mother. Tara then looks up at her vampire mother Pam and quickly hugs her. Pam hugs her back then after a few seconds Pam says that's it and tells Tara to get back on the pole because she's very good at dancing. ("In the Beginning")
An old acquaintance of Tara's named Tracy sits at the bar. She's ignorant and racist and Tara does not have any patience for her. Eventually Pam zips over and scolds Tara for not treating the customers better. Tracy gets even more nasty before walking away.
Pam brings Tara downstairs to show her Tracy in custody. She glamours Tracy and turns her into Tara's slave. Tara feeds on Tracy. ("Somebody That I Used to Know")
Pam and Tara talk about Fangtasia only having a few weeks worth of Tru Blood on hand in the wake of the factory bombings. Tara angrily replies "Suck me, vampire barbie." and leaves. Alone again, Pam looks at an old photo of her and Eric; Tara was right about her worries.
Tara watches as Pam tries to stop a vampire (Elijah Stormer) from feeding on a human in Eric's throne. He tells her that the ban on public feeding has been lifted. He then says "Northman's history" and he is the new sheriff of Area 5. He throws Pam across the bar.("Everybody Wants to Rule the World")
Tara is with Pam when Elijah is counting the profits from Fangtasia. He then asks them where the rest of it is. Pam explains there there is no more and there is no other legal way to make money. Elijah tells her of a way to make money that involves a "peep" show where a human pays $20 and then sticks in whatever body part they want and lets the vampire on the other side feed on it. He says it brings in over $2,000 an hour where it is used. Pam refuses and says they like to do things "the old fashioned way." Elijah goes on to explain that there is a mandate to create 30 new vampires in area 5 before the end of the year or he will repossess all of Pam's assets including her money, Fangtasia, and Tara.
Pam is sitting on Eric's throne with Tara standing by her side. Tara asks Pam if she is really going to give in to Elijah and urges her to fight back.
Pam says they "live with the wind" and are going to leave the bar and move on to other things.
Later, a panicked Tara calls Elijah to Fangtasia. She says she killed Ginger in an attempt to make her into a vampire in compliance with the new mandate. When Elijah checks her, he says she has a pulse. It proves to be a trick, as Ginger quickly stabs Elijah with a silver dagger and then Tara beheads him with a sword.
("Sunset")
After Eric saves Sookie and the Fairies, he and Nora go back to Fangtasia, squabbling over who Godric loved more, Tara interrupts and says "they" got Pam. Eric begins removing extremely large amounts of money from the wall which he has smashed, Nora asks why he is going back, he explains Pam is his progeny that's she family as he is unhappy with Nora saying shes nothing more than an old prostitute. Tara drags in travel coffins asking if they are safe, which he confirms. As she is about to move, Nora looks at Tara and Eric tells her that she too is family and that she has to be nice to Tara as well.
Eric, Nora and Tara, arrive in Sookie's house, wanting her help to save Bill, and Tara reminds her she owes Pam. Jason and Eric trading insults, are stopped by Sookie decides to infiltrate the Authority with Eric. They arm themselves with weapons from Junior's shop. Eric and Nora driving in a pickup, have Sookie, Jason and Tara tied and gagged in the back when they arrive telling the guard, Tara is a mainstreamer, and Sookie and Jason are dinner. They are let in by Bill, and as the 5 of them descend in the elevator they prepare for war.
Jason instantly shoots Chelsea with a wooden bullet and she explodes but she pressed the security button, Jason shoot the guards that arrive. Eric and Nora levitating in the Main meeting room of The Authority and dispatch the guards instantly. Jason tells Tara and Sookie to go, where they meet up with Jessica and Pam who are in their cells. Pam asks Tara what she is doing, before they exchange their usual playful insults. Moments later, the electric gates are released. As the cell doors are silver, Jessica asks Sookie to open them. Sookie opens Jessica's cell first, before turning to open Pams, however Tara opens Pam's cell herself before rushing in, burning her hand as she does so. Tara immediately embraces Pam with whom she shares a long romantic kiss. Sookie stands surprised and remarks "Oh.. Okay", while Jessica says comedically "I Knew it".
Jason is still within the lobby as Sookie emerges first, after having freed Jessica and Pam. Tara then follows behind Sookie whilst extending her arm around Pam's waist.
As they are all meeting up next to the lifts, Eric tells them all to go to the top while he and Sookie try to get through to Bill.("Save Yourself")
