[[File:S05E04_Roman.png|thumb|Roman kills Alexander.]]Roman is shown with the other Authority members and pulls out the stake made from the Judas Tree, tipped with the thirty pieces of melted silver that belong to Judas. He considers it the holiest of holy weapons. While Dieter attempts to discuss other matters, Roman says he can't do that as he's having all of the Authority's member's quarters are being searched. Kibwe says that isn't necessary as all of them are loyal. Roman says that they also know there are others who still refuse to accept mainstreaming and if one chancellor can be turned into a Sanguinista, then why not two. A pair of guards then walk in with a laptop and a note. As Roman reads the note, Salome asks if it's true. Roman places the note down and confirms that there is indeed another traitor. Roman then places the laptop in front of Alexander and plays a video of Alexander feeding on a human. Alexander tries to plead his case, but Roman reveals the video has been sent to all of the Authority's enemies and kills Alexander. Covered in blood, Roman says there will be no more rebellion or opposition to his cause and they will all fall in line.

Synopsis

S05E04 Pam and Tara

Pam stops Tara from killing herself

Pam shows up at the salon just in time to save Tara from killing herself. Tara tells Pam that she cannot live as a vampire and attempts to kill herself again when Pam warned her not to do it again. As Tara's maker, Pam commands Tara not to ever do it again. An angry Tara turns off the tanning bed soon after.

At Merlotte's parking lot, Sookie tries to apologize to Alcide as he drives off. Lafayette runs to Sookie to learn that she told Alcide everything. Sookie tells Lafayette that they can't keep lying or they'll keep digging themselves deeper. Lafayette says he doesn't enjoy the lies, but expected Sookie to keep quiet about Debbie's murder after the multiple times he has covered for her. Sookie tells Lafayette that she didn't tell Alcide about him being involved, but Lafayette refused to listen. Sookie tries to reason with him, saying that they have to start doing right if they want to get out of their dilemma and that it'll be okay. Lafayette says Sookie will survive, as usual, but she always leaves a trail of bodies behind as a result. Lafayette then calls Sookie the angel of death and leaves her crying.

Bill and Eric climb out the back of a jeep in the middle of nowhere. The guards that dropped them off throw them a set of car keys and drive off. Bill and Eric discuss about who could have been the one who broke Russell out. Eric says only four people knew where he was, him and Bill included. Bill hits the key's alarm to locate the car and tells Eric he'll drive.

Salome offers Roman TruBlood and he refuses while he lays on their bed watching Nora's continued torture on his laptop. Roman still believes that Nora is still holding out information. Salome suggests to continue torturing her until she breaks, but Roman says that he would rather have Salome speak to her instead as Nora sees Salome as a sister. Salome asks Roman what if she doesn't, Roman says they will execute her publicly as a warning to the Sanguinistas that the Authority is willing to kill as much as they are. Salome tells Roman that she can be very persuasive.

S05E04 Sookie

Sookie confesses to Jason of killing Debbie.

Sookie is pounding on Jason's door. When he opens it, he barges in and admits to killing Debbie. Jason doesn't believe her until he admits the details of what happened. Jason tells he doesn't want to hear another word and demands she leave, telling her their conversation never happened. Sookie tells Jason she already told Alcide and begs Jason to put her in jail. Jason refuses and tells Sookie to act normal tomorrow while he figures out what to do for her. When he asks if Alcide was the only one who knew, Sookie tells him that Lafayette and Tara were there. She also admits what happened to Tara and that she is now a vampire, much to Jason's appall and disbelief. Sookie said she didn't have time to think or Tara was going to die. Jessica comes out of Jason's bedroom after hearing everything, also shocked to learn about that happened to Tara.

S05E04 Eric

Eric returns home to Fangtasia.

Pam heads back to Fangtasia with Tara. She screams at Ginger for closing earlier than the usual time. When she asks in asking where everyone was, Eric was sitting on his chair, telling Pam it was him who closed early. Pam shook with relief seeing her Maker back and says no apologies necessary between the two from their previous problems and let bygones be bygones. After noticing Bill was present, Pam told Eric of her new progeny, Tara, and told him he was a grandfather. Disinterested, Eric asks Bill a moment alone with Pam; Bill taking Tara with him. Bill tries to calm Tara about her new life and that her impulses to kill herself will pass. Giving her a bottle of TruBlood, Bill asks Tara if Sookie knows and if she's safe. Tara says she does know, but that he needs to stop worrying about her above everything else and that he needs to move on. He asks again if she's safe. Tara says she is, as always, and that there's always someone there to take a bullet for her -- like Tara did.

Eric interrogates Pam, calls her a liar and demands to know where Russell is. Pam assures him that she would never betray or hurt Eric and would die a thousand times before she would do such a thing. Eric calls her a fool, saying he trusts no one and that she shouldn't either. Pam says that if she means so little to him, then why keep her around. Pam demands Eric to release her if he is more trusting of Bill and Alcide rather than her.

Eric walks into his office, and Tara calmly leaves. He tells Bill that Pam is innocent. Bill asks if Eric told anyone else about Russell, including his sister, which insults Eric. Bill tells him that Russell is a great martyr for the Sanguinistas and if Nora is behind this, then Russell would be very useful to her cause. Eric says if she was planning something he would've known about it, and even then he wouldn't give her Russell. Eric then asks if he told anyone, including Jessica. Bill says if he did, he would've gone to her first. He then suggests they go underground and keep searching tomorrow night.

Alexander is tracking both Eric and Bill on his laptop, assuming that they're doing nothing to track Russell down. Kibwe wonders if anyone believes that Eric and Bill did indeed kill Russell a year ago and that if this is their plot to give themselves more time before being killed. Dieter said it might also be a hoax to rally the Sanguinistas. As they continue this debate, Dieter tells everyone to turn the channel watching Nora. Nora is shown praying to God and Lilith to protect her. Dieter hits the switch to the ultraviolet lights in Nora's cell and ridicules her prayers, saying that the Vampire Bible is merely a book and that he knew the person who wrote it, noting that the writer was high on drugs when he did. Rosalyn laughs and reminds him never to say that in front of Roman. Dieter says that he's not here for him to worry about.

Andy is at the station talking to Holly on the phone. Judge Clements walks in and teases Andy about his picture on Facebook while also thanking him for clearing that ticket off his son. The Judge then invites Andy and Jason out for the night to celebrate. Judge Clements than says he will meet them at the station later that night, teasing Andy one more before he leaves.

At Merlotte's, Sam sees Suzanne and Emory, two of his former shapeshifting friends. When asked why Sam hasn't been coming around, Sam says he's been under a lot of stress lately. They beg him to shift and run with them again. Sam didn't think it was a good idea as he and Luna weren't on speaking terms. Suzanne says Luna said the same thing, so they chose Sam over her. Sam agrees and says he'll meet them later that night.

S05E04 Lafayette

Lafayette curses Sookie's car.

Holly walks in on Sookie in the bathroom by mistake and apologizes. As she waits, Sookie hears her thoughts. Holly thinks about how she would get through her shift with Sookie around after letting Tara become a vampire. Sookie leaves and walks through the restaurant hearing everyone's thoughts, all blaming her for what happened to Tara. Lafayette steps out of his car behind Merlotte's and notices Sookie's car. Thinking back about his conversation with Sookie the previous night, an angry Lafayette begins speaking in tongues and holds both hands out lifting Sookie's car from the ground. His demon suddenly emerges, placing a spell on the vehicle.

S05E04 Alcide

Alcide lies to Debbie's parents about Debbie's murderer.

Alcide goes to the Inn where Debbie's parents are staying. He tells them that he wasn't completely honest about Debbie's whereabouts. Alcide then reveals Debbie was dead, but told them that it was Marcus who killed Debbie and got revenge by snapping Marcus' neck, covering for Sookie. Gordon attempts to attack Alcide, showing his wolf eyes, but Barbara stops him. Alcide doesn't fight back and says if they want to turn him into the police, then he won't argue. The Pelt's instead begin to cry and mourn for Debbie, telling Alcide to get out.

As Sookie's driving down the highway, she notices her car picking up speed. When attempting to hit the brakes, she realizes they're not working while the gas pedal pushes down by itself, increasing the vehicle speed. Sookie panics and jumps out of her car in time to avoid a pole as the car crashes on it.

A horrified Terry looks at the pile of bodies.

Patrick and Terry are on route to South Dakota on their search for Brian Eller. Patrick said that if they don't find him, Terry is driving them back home. Terry said they'll find him and won't leave him until they do. Terry has a flashback of him, Eller, Patrick and other soldiers in Iraq when they were still soldiers. While preparing to camp out on a tower, Patrick reveals a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels to celebrate the fourth of July while another of their soldier comrades holds up a bag of pills, calling them "candy". Patrick gives Eller a smaller bottle for himself and places him on watch duty below the tower. While the platoon enjoys themselves by getting drunk and high, a series of fireworks start. They begin to sing until they notice an Iraqi man walking toward the tower. While Eller tries to tell him to leave, one of the soldiers tells Eller to get rid of him. Eller mistook those words and shot the man instead. A group of Iraqi's appear and argue with them when suddenly an Iraqi soldier shoots at them, getting Eller in the chest, though Eller was wearing a bulletproof vest. After exchanging gunfire, Terry tells Patrick where the soldier is and Patrick shoots him. As they check on Eller, Terry sees the groups of Iraqi's have been shot down during the gunfire. A shocked Terry falls to his knees in disbelief. Patrick then wakes up Terry from his nightmare and tries to calm him down.

Back at Sookie's house, Sookie goes through her liquor cabinet and begins to drink.

At the station, Andy gets a call from the Pelts saying they no longer wish to search for Debbie. Jason says that's great as now they can close the case, but Andy refuses and says he'll try to get a search warrant from the Judge to search the areas around Debbie's car, which includes Sookie's house. Jessica ran in and glamours Andy into forgetting about the case and never worrying about it again. Jason is relieved and tells Jessica that she really is a good friend to have.

S05E04 Pam and Eric

Eric releases Pam.

Pam wakes up from her coffin. Eric comes downstairs and has a talk with her. As they sit on the stairs, he tells her that searching for Russell is a suicide mission and even if they find Russell, he and Bill will still be facing treason. When she asks about Eric's friends within the Authority, Eric tells her he had a friend, but she can't help him anymore. Eric then tells her that either Russell or the Authority will end him and doesn't want her there. When she says he wants to, he still denies her and says that he has to release her, but not because her doesn't trust her but because she was his only progeny and needs her to live once he dies. Pam begins to cry saying she understands and accepts. Eric then hesitates, but eventually releases her from their blood bond. Pam begins to cry and hugs Eric. Eric says that she is still his child and that she was born into greatness. He reminds her that she is also a Maker now and that their blood will continue to thrive. Eric kisses Pam's forehead and holds her as the tears begin to fall from his eyes.

Judge Clements, Andy and Jason get into a limousine with three beautiful women inside. As they sit, bags are placed over their heads. Jason and Andy grow paranoid, but Judge Clements assures them that it's okay and seems to be enjoying it. One of the girls then tells the chauffeur to drive.

Bill and Jessica are seen in his office looking for any kind of bug that might have been placed in his home. When Jessica asks if Bill is still the King of Louisiana, Bill tells her that he is until he either meets the true death or they changed their mind. Bill then finds a marijuana roach on the coach and holds it up Jessica. She nervously states that she had a few friends over, but no one was eaten or drained. Bill smiled and says that it is her home too and that she can take care of herself, then sniffs the roach and says that it was low quality. Jessica smiles as Bill continues his search, then asks him if he is going to go see Sookie saying she has had a rough time because of Debbie and Tara. Bill says that Jessica has already taken care of Sookie's problem by glamouring Andy, but to not make a habit of doing that for her. Jessica says that Sookie is falling apart and that Bill and Sookie is different than Sookie and anyone else. Bill then hugs Jessica and says she should take care of herself first. Looking at her, he tells Jessica that he has done well as a Maker. As Jessica smiles, Bill walks away.

S05E04 Salome and Nora

Nora tells Roman and Salome of a second traitor.

Salome and Roman walk into the torture room where Nora is held. Salome releases the holds on Nora's wrists. Roman asks if she accepts the true death for her treason. Nora struggles to her knees and accepts her fate. Salome says she refuses to see Nora die for the other Sanguinistas and to tell her who is gathering others to bring the Authority down while Roman also says that he doesn't see Nora as a leader. Nora says that they have seared and sliced every inch of her body and has nothing else to say. Roman asks if she cares nothing about her own life, what about Eric and Bill. Nora says to kill them as they'll be killed anyway. Roman asks if he should kill them now and pulls out his phone, showing his application to activate the iStakes. Nora looks terrified and asks that if she tells them who the leader is, how will she be assured of their safety. Salome then bites her blood to smear a cross on her chest and Nora's, stating that it was her most solemn vow and if she tells them who the leader was that Eric and Bill will be spared. Nora collapse in Salome's arms and begins to cry.

Andy, Jason and Judge Clements are still wearing bags over their heads and are walked into a field by the girls. They open a portal to the fairy world and take the three men inside. They then remove the bags and are shown inside a nightclub setting. While Judge Clements leaves with one girl and Jason hooks up with another, Andy runs into Maurella. Andy wonders if he's dreaming their first night and she says it wasn't. He asks if him meeting this time was a dream. She kisses him and asks what he thought. Andy says he doesn't care and walks away with her.

At Sookie's house, she drunkenly sings along with music playing when Lafayette calls. He asks if she's okay after finding her wrecked car. A nervous Lafayette says he was going over and Sookie assures him that she really is okay. Sookie then hears a knock on her door and notices it to be Alcide, telling him to come in. Sookie then tell Lafayette to call and have her car towed. When Lafayette tries to confess what happened, Sookie hangs up. Alcide then tells Sookie what he told Debbie's parents, covering her. Sookie is grateful and apologizes, then offers Alcide a drink. He accepts.

Terry and Patrick search Eller's barn at night. Terry notices a hidden opening below. When they both go down, they see pictures taken and drawn of homes on fire. Eller then appears aiming a shotgun at both of them.

Sam shows up at Suzanne and Evory's home to see that they've both been shot in the head.

S05E04 Pam and Tara002

Pam teaches Tara how to feed without killing.

Pam then wakes Tara up. Pam has a human girl named Melony with her and tells Tara to feed on her. Tara refuses, but Melony says it's okay and doesn't mind being fed on. She continues to refuses, but Pam commands Tara to feed on her. As Tara begins to feed, Pam shows Tara how to properly feed with killing her. Pam also soothes Tara and says that she is now on top of the food chain and no human can hurt her anymore. Tara continues to feed.

S05E04 Roman

Roman kills Alexander.

Roman is shown with the other Authority members and pulls out the stake made from the Judas Tree, tipped with the thirty pieces of melted silver that belong to Judas.

Sookie then begins to make out with Alcide. Bill is seen watching this outside her window. Eric then shows up and says she should be looking for Russell. Bill says they are and believes Sookie can be useful in their search. Eric says Sookie might not want to, but Bill says they won't give her the choice. Back in the fairy world, Jason is making out with the girl he met, named Layda. She stops and says that he's thinking about someone else -- a vampire. Jason wonders how she read his mind and asks where he was. Then he sees his cousin Natalie and both are happy to see each other. Jason tells her that Sookie is alive and Natalie is glad then asks if Jason was a refugee from vampires. He says no, then realizes he's in a fairy safehouse from all the vampires. Hadley says that Sookie needs to be there with them. Jason disagrees, nothing the last time Sookie got into mix with the fairies and believes she's better off staying with vampires. Hadley says they should get Sookie before she gets killed by vampires just like Jason and Sookie's parents were. Jason says that's not true and that his parents were killed in a flood, though he starts to wonder if that was true. Natalie mutters that she's said too much and leaves once Layda tells her to. Jason tries to catch up to her, but other fairies attempt to stop him. Andy intervenes and tries to help Jason. Both are kicked out of the fairy safehouse. When they look around and realize they were in the middle of a field, Andy warns Jason of the two male fairies in front of them.
